What are your articles about?
Strutting around the gym with a mean ass look and staring in mirrors?

"Luck" and from what I heard connections. I was told that he called up the news and asked them to please come interview him, and he almost didn't get on the air because he never asked the gym's permission.
I don't know the dude personally but at the gym he's very loud talking about himself and a riot to watch.
BEWARE! This guy is also trying to pass himself off as a Personal Trainer to make money off of clients.
If the gym were to catch on to what he's telling members I don't think they'd be to happy.(Hint Hint)
Good luck on your "Internet Fame" dude, but keep it to yourself and your online pals.

Wow. I made Topix. So this is what it is like. Ok. I am only replying once so if you post after this, it is being ignored because I am not taking the time to reply to people who don't have the courage to post their names. BTW, how can someone in Pleasant Hill, Illinois watch news in WV? Even in satellite, that is unlikely. At least post your town.

I have no connections. Yes, I called the news but at the request of someone associated with the news. They wanted to know more and it was THEIR decision to come see me. I also attempted to clear this with the gym and did so the morning they came with Kevin Workman.

I am NOT trying to pass myself off as a personal trainer. Straight and simple. Anyone that has come to me, I have approached NO ONE, it is made clear that I am NOT currently certified but preparing for it and was certified at one time. I would not attempt to lie to make money because what little notoriety I have I don't want to risk losing.

If you don't know me, how about trying to get to know me? I honestly don't want to be considered a bad person and would like to get to know you. If I am loud talking, I apologize and don't want to disrupt others. Normally people come to me and I don't want to be rude. BTW, the gym does know about others asking me to help them. I have offered REPEATEDLY to help the gym. They declined. If I am such a riot to watch, then either stop watching or speak to me if I am bothering you so much.

BTW, it isn't just the internet. I am published in 2 print publications and both are international.

I have busted my ass for a decade to get where I am. My willingness to help others is genuine and I never counted on all the publicity I am getting. Not many in this area have had a spotlight on them and I wish I was as embraced in my own hometown as I am everywhere else I go.

Again, if you have such problems with me, either try to get to know me or at the very least post your name if your feelings about me are so strong you want all of topix to know about them. For those that want to see more about me go to www.rocklockridge.webs.com Thanks to those that compliment me and to those that post negatively, for every one of you there are 100 that support me and thank me so I won't be losing any sleep.

FYI--posting locations can be from anywhere your ISP bounces from, you will see lots of towns and states but they can all be from the local area.

did this guy use to work the door at the spare time ?

That is him. He could be a prick when he worked there, but talking to him outside of the bar and now that he doesn't work there anymore, he is a great guy. Will do anything for his friends.

You be the judge.
Bodybuilder or Wannabe?
It's funny how "Rock" has all these training vids online but has comments disabled.
Truth hurts.

He lost over 50 pounds. I saw him before all of this started happening and trust me he has busted his butt to do what he has done. He may look in the mirror and "be a riot" but point someone else out in that gym that works harder than him. I haven't seen anyone. He stays and helps others after he finishes and people ask him questions when there are trainers working there. No he isn't ripped but he is in a lot better shape than he used to be and a lot of people are around the area. The point of the news piece also was that he was helping others get in shape through the writing. For God's sake, let someone who is trying to do some good have a moment. Where is your video? What good are you trying to do in your town? BTW, he won two more awards this past weekend. Why can't this area support someone that is making it in a positive way?
Why He is Rock

OK, I had to mention this now. I normally don't post on here but this had to be addressed.

First of all, his nickname has nothing to do with working out. It was given to him by a teacher in East as a way to remember his name. R from Roger Lock from Lockridge. Drop the L. Rock. Silly, but true.

The other reason he is known as Rock is this kid will be there for any friend for any reason. I have known him since he was 14. He went through all kind of shit growing up. Picked on, teased, worked for the cafeteria staff and odd jobs not for spending money, but to help pay bills. His girlfriend at the time dumped him on his 18th birthday. He took a lot of shit he didn't deserve. I bet she is regretting that now, huh?

Anytime I or anybody else needed anything at all, he was and is there. Regardless. I have seen him go to the Clover Club at 3 am to pick up friends who were drunk and take them home. He went at 3 to pick them up because he doesn't drink. He is 28 years old and couldn't tell you what alcohol tastes like. Think about that.

He worked for Family Refuge Center and served on their board of directors. So no they aren't manhaters, just asshole haters. He has helped many families start over and speaks at events for them now. He is part of the reason the YMCA is there. He worked there when they started and lived to help build that place into a successful organization. Helping members, raising money, he did it all.

He started working out weighing 125 lbs. when he was 17. Have you seen his pics? I will tell you that is actually him. He walked to the gym because he didn't have a car. Rain, snow, whatever was going on didn't matter because he had goals and was going to achieve them. He is just as motivated and determined now as he was then. I have never seen anyone with the will power he has. He doesn't quit or take a back step regardless of what is in his way. Anything he does, he wants to be the best at because he feels that doing anything less is not serving who he is helping or working for properly.

I have seen him last December in the freezing cold and snowstorm helping a lady and a kid in an accident on I 64 until help arrived. He didn't know who they were, he just has that kind of heart. I could mention stories like this all day long. His kindness to people that may or may not deserve it is unparalleled.

As good of a person as he is and all of the people he has helped both in health and just as kindness, he has only received a microscopic fraction of what he deserves. To hell with the news, have a damn parade in his honor. How the gym hasn't hired him is beyond me. He has done as much for the place as some of the people that have worked there.

If you are seeing this thread and have anything positive to say about him, dammit say it on this thread now because he doesn't deserve the negativity. It is about time that all of his friends start showing him what he means to us. Rock, if you read this, thank you for just being you. You deserve all the good that has come your way and more.

Thank you for stepping up and saying such great things about Roger. I didn't even know about this board until a friend showed it to me. Everything Why He Is Rock posted is completely true. I've known Roger for just about 14 years and it saddens me to see you jackasses talking shiat just because you don't know him. Why not get to know him before you rip on him?
Roger has been there for me for anything I have ever needed, every step of the way. He especially stood by me when I even admit that I'd have told me to rot. I didn't deserve such a great friend then (and am not so sure I do now). He absolutely deserves everything he's getting right now and so much more. Screw these jerks. Rock on, buddy.
PS- I have moved out of the area, which is why my location is in canada. Still keep in touch with Roger though. He's one of my best friends.

I've known "Rock" for years and all of the above is true, you couldn't ask for a nicer guy.
He has busted his ass in the 10 years I've known him, and his hard work and dedication have paid off.
Let the naysayers speak their mind, there the one's hiding behind there monitor trying to gain fame in anonymity.
