I would not take a rabid raccoon to Grady. They are just one step above a clinic, and the staff are horrible. Thinking of having "Do not take to Grady, no matter what!" tattooed on my forehead.

Cool - you should get a second tatoo on your arse cheeks pointing inward saying "brain located here"

Now, wait a minute. In defense of Grady Hospital, my life was saved there after I was shot in the head by an unknown assailant (a home invader in my own home in Atlanta) three years ago. It's the best trauma hospital in Atlanta, as well as the closest one to my house in downtown Atlanta.Everyone in Atlanta knows that if you're badly injured-- such as shot in the head by a robber or stabbed in the chest by a mugger, as is known tohappen sometimes in downtown Atlanta, Grady Hospital is the best place to go, and in my case, it turned out to be the truth. Dr. Sanjay Gupta (yum, yum!) saved my life with three consecutive brain surgeries and he and his team have saved a lot of other lives. My biggest beef with Grady is that the nurses are so overworked that some of them are downright hateful--or at least I'm assuming that overwork is to blame for their sometimes-horrible attitudes. Not all of them, of course;there were some more-than decent and very kind nurses there, absolutely. The other thing that is bad is that if you call any department there, you can expect to be on hold for about half of your life. If it's really that bad, I doubt they'd be all that busy. Grady isn't just for people without money, by the way.My husband and I have money and I went to Grady. It's also for trauma patients and people who are dying, as was I. In fact, I coded and they brought me back, so here I am today. Such a close call! So I have to say thank you to Grady for saving my life, and Dr. Gupta, if only you weren't married! Like I'd even remotely have a chance, I know!Ha! But he headedthe team that saved my life and I love him and his whole team for that.It was such a close call, take it from somebody whose life was saved there, Grady doesn't reallysuck all that much.
