Great article Beth!
I've taken a zumba class before and it's a great workout. I just love the idea of dance exercise. Combining the idea of having fun and working out, especially the high I feel at the end of a great class. My current favorite dance exercise workout is DanceX http://www.dancexfitness.com I really enjoy this workout because of it's simplicity, high energy and easy to follow fun dance moves. Please keep writing more articles on dance exercise, it's inspiring and I bet more people will start working out.

I have danced, worked out in zumba fitness classes for over a year. I find that Zumba! fitness is more than dance, it is definitely an extreme workout without even knowing that I'm working out because it's all dance! However, the benefits of a great workout derives from its flavor of latin and afro-carribean=reggaeton. I feel the urge and passionate desire to instruct zumba, because of the many wonderful members with whom I workout with who have been encouraging me to 'please be a zumba instructor; we like the way you move...!'. So, therefore, I not only enjoy the workout for me, the workout I do is, too, enjoyed by others as they enjoy watching me and following along, especially, when the studio is crowded and they simply find it hard to follow along without seeing the actual instructor; so, they'd watch me and find my moves to be unique and in range with zumba. If you have any information on how I may apply in my local area of central florida, orlando, to become a professional instructor. I have much dance styles under my belt through the professional local dance studio such as ballroom (some), contemporary/modern/lyrical/ad ult ballet basics/afro-carribean; please send correspondence to one of the following means of contact: [email protected] or by mailing info to: P.O. Box 694, Winter Park, Fl 32790; or url with myspace.com/cheryshfran or [email protected] u...I am still currently zumba dancing, as a member, at salsa orlando on east colonial on tuesdays at 7pm with the professional zumba instructor, and at ballys in casselberry florida on thursdays at 7:30pm. People ask me, why am i not teaching? Hey, I want to obtain a license after i've been through whatsoever process there is for me to take to earn my license; like instructing multitudes without fear, knowing each steps term, and so forth. Peace.

I took my first professional and technical zumba/salsa lessons through www.saIsaorlando.com also learn many styles of dance basics techicalities through a dance center called the center for contemporary dance at www.thecenterfordance.org . I never thought I could learn professional dance until I joined these venues. I took my chances and loved the results of the high impact energizing dance fitness workout from zumba and the centers' afro carribean and modern/contemporary classes which now offers 'NIA' technique. I admire the fact that I can use my energy in a resourceful way rather than always in the domestic areas such as cleaning the house and at work; I'm doing something for me, for a change, with the hopes that I will have an impact on others with the high energizing motivation I have in our instructors' zumba classes.

Zumba is still the "dance yourself to fitness" program for many of us. It's so envigorating it's incredible. It has been the only fun way of toning up that I've ever used - and I've tried a number of dance for fitness programs.
