a good boy doesn't go into other peoples property looking for things that do not belong to him. Should he have died no, but he wasn't a "good boy" either. I'm sick of seeing these people portray this kid as the next coming of Christ. And can somebody please talk about the crimes they were committing. You don't sweep something under the rug because something bigger happen. The two 15 year old's what is their punishment? And don't tell me "Their friend/ cousin was murdered" because as their actions proved, they could have cared less that night. So what is their punishment, for breaking and entering into peoples cars?

oh dear, i'll tell you what they won't get, they won't get the death penalty like chris cervini did. they will be charged with their crime and receive a sentence that fits this type of crime. one thing is for sure, they won't be sentenced to death. roderick scott, in his small mind, decided to be judge, jury and executioner all in a split second decision. so what now? for you people who are defending scott, i guess we can do away with the police, the investigators and the courts because its ok to just shoot now and ask questions later, while taking the law in your own hands. who is safe then? this seventeen years old boy should have been arrested for breaking into cars and sentenced for his crime. he also should have had the chance to learn from his mistake. i know one thing is for sure, he would NOT have been sentenced to death!

The other two are lucky to have survived...You don't just go around looking into peoples cars, even if they are unlocked...You might get shot in the back.

Rod is going away for a long time..."I should have called 911, and watched from a window" will be the only thing going through his head...He broke the law, and will pay.

This is a horrific occurance. However the Cervini Family need to realize that their son and friends were in the wrong to be breaking into cars.. for "cigarettes" the people doing the crime need to wake up and also take respondsibility.

Death Penalty? I guess you must have been there that night! It is amazing to me that crime is just accepted now in this country. Every criminal is a good person in a bad situation. Mr Scott has no prior record and has never been in trouble yet you think he just went outside and murdered this kid? It is a very unfortunate situation but one you are going to see a lot more of. People have no respect for the law anymore. Mr Cervini had you brought your child up properly and if he really was a good boy he would not have ended up dead! What you should be saying is I did not do a good enough job raising my kid but then no parents ever accept any repsonsibility when these things happen.

I'm glad Roderick Scott is free on bail! I think it's really funny that this mother is "outraged". I'm outraged that she never kept track of her son while he vandalized other peoples property. I'm sure the night he was killed wasn't the first time he did this. He made a choice and that put him in the situatuion he was in. These parents need to start keeping track of their children and stop tickling us with their "outrage".

He won't be going away for a long time. He'll get a 1 to 4 sentence. With time served and good behavior he'll be out in about 6-8 months. Too bad that kid had to act criminally and cause this whole situation. We all need to look at the repercussions for our actions. The criminal behavior of a single teen began the ball rolling. An untrained adult with a handgun panicked at the actions of the teen and a tragedy evolved. Murder 2nd will never stick. More like criminally negligent homicide. Too bad for all involved.

Cervini ftaher says his son was just a child, a good boy, and he misses him dearly. A good boy? Where was the father at 3AM on many nights? Not watching his kid. A bad boy and a bad father equal problems.

Where were the other kids parents? Where Cervini is now he will be able to light all those stolen cigarettes collected over the years with out matches or lighters. The fire is always going and hot in hell.

no matter what the kid did not deserve to get shot in the back. the law protects you shooting someone in your house not you using a gun for a neighbor

This was horrible," said Carol Cervini. "You just don't gun down teenagers in their neighborhood. Was this the same mother of one of the 15 year old's on parole? Carol you just do not rob cars in you neighborhood. You watch your kids. Especially if they are on parole and have had trouble with the law in the past.

Great one keep the kids on a leash or use an electric fence to keep them in at 3AM.
