We lost a 12yr.old in Sept. due to cyber bulling. Wake up America!! More aggressive legislation!!! This man Zach Chapman told my neice Sarah Butler she might as well go ahead and kill youself because no one will miss you. Now he walks around taunting and laughing at our family because Sarah did kill herself. He works at the Wal-mart in Ashflat and laughs at us when he sees us wearing a button with Sarahs picture. He will get off scott free! Where is Sarahs justice? And the police department!! What a freaking joke!!!!!!!!

I am sorry for your loss. I cannot imagine losing a child or family member. I hope you and your family have had the opportunity to go to grief counseling. On the other side of this issue, sometimes it is easier to blame someone else or ourselves when something like this happens. There may have been other issues that you may have overlooked. Cyber bullying is a shame but we can't blame it for things that happen. When someone decides to take their own life, that is an indication there were other underlying issues and no one can be blamed. Yes, there may have been contributing factors but bottom line is that it lies with the individual. I hope you find peace within your family and time will help with the healing process. My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time.

What about that particular boy and his older friends attacking her at a private beach that they should never have been allowed to access to? An adult saw it and reported it and nothing was done to them and yes they were allowed to come back to that beach. Do you think that could have been a factor along with allt he other things that had been said and done to her from this same group of adults?

As I mentioned, yes there could have been contributing factors. You need to follow up with this police report if there was one done on the attack of the young lady. Law enforcement needs to be held accountable and follow up on this. The family needs to continue to contact the police on this matter concerning the beach location. It is such a shame that this boy has the nerve to laugh or smile at the family. He must have some issues to feel no remorse or empathy for the family.

She wasn't a young lady. She was an 11 year old little girl when the adult males attacked her. That happened in July and by September she had finally had enough. There have been several followups on all of it and still nothing!

Sadly, the age of consent is 16, but if there are any girls under that age it needs to be reported. Sexual assault is totally different. Girls at any age need to report if these guys attacked them in any way. Do you know if any of those girls have reported them to the Sheriff's Office?

Have you tried calling each place and explaining the situation? Sometimes some of them will work with you if they know what is going on. I think she will have to be the one to call them though. Is it true that there might be criminal charges against on the the adults involved?

Exactly, more aggressive legislation indeed. Negligent parents who left their 12 year old to languish on the internet should be put in prison for child neglect.

What about the adult males who sexually pursued her? What should happen to them?

She can go to Families in Ash Flat and they can set her up so she won't have to pay. I know of a few people that have done it. They can get her help with a grant.

Grief process can take a long time. All people are different and therefore heal in their own way. I am sorry to hear that your wife is not doing well. Does she have state health insurance? If not, see if any of the local counselors office's have what they call a sliding scale. They will base it on income. Is she seeking treatment for depression or been diagnosed? It sounds like she really needs to get in to see someone. Sometimes we get so depressed that we are unable to accomplish these things on our own so if there is a family member who could help her I would recommend it. As far as the boys who did and are still doing this...can you contact the state representative or prosecuting attorney on this matter? I would not give up and make all necessary phone calls until you can get something done about this. Losing a child is the most tragic thing a parent can endure. I hope your family gets the assistance you need to cope with your loss.

I agree with all of you a toucher legislation needs to be brought up. I have two kids a boy and a girl that are 5 and 3. Even though my kids are still young I am very afraid of bullying, peer presure and other things like that. I watch what my kids see on tv and my son does have some games that he can play on this websire for home schooled kids even though he is not home schoolI still watch him when he plays on hat site. I am very sorry to the family of Sarah, I was able to meet her grandmother when she came to my house looking for that man. I had just mved into the house that he moved out of and I could not even amagine loosing one of my kids. Something needs to be done about those boys because she is not the only girl they have doe this to she i however the first that went all the way because she could not handle it. Most kids can't handle the name calling, teasing, and taunting. I couldn't when I was in high school and I tried several time to kill myself I know now that it was stupid of me and I should have just let it go but as a kid it is harder. My condolences to Sarahs family in their loss.
