Such a waste. Irresponsible behavior that resulted in changing lives forever. Shame on Gannon for acting so stupid. Thankfully none of the teenagers were killed

It is a waste and a shame. I hope the 4 teenagers can get on with their lives and are not physically effected long term. Just think Jovy and Charles were a couple....thank god they did not have children or off-spring - because we do not need more people in the world to drive 50+ mph in a posted 25 mph zone, I am sure he would have been a great example to his kids....Charles (32) must not been able to read at a 1st grade level....too bad he can not get his money back from his schooling.....it is a waste, but may be it was just an act of kindness for the rest of us.

There is an interesting comment on one of the reporters stories that suggests that it was the kids inthe Honda who may have been speeding and caused the accident.

That was the initial thought, but glad that the kids had enough sense to drive responsibily, too bad some numbskull didn't have the maturity to do the same

Unbelievable, what pieces of S#!t you people must be to talk crap about the deceased. You should be more respectful. What if it was your kids who were killed in wreck would you wanna read crap like this about your kids? Yes he may have made a mistake an luckily non of the teenagers were killed. I personally pray for the family's that lost there loved ones an my heart goes out to them. I to have lost someone to a car accident where someone else made a mistake an that mistake took my family member from me. So please really think about what you post an say an be more respectful.

Well it wasn't the kids speeding!!! And all the evidence points to the 32 yr old driving like a senseless maniac! The teenage driver had his own engine sitting on his lap, his brake pedal through his shin. And he was enlisted to leave to the Navy in a few months and now he prob won't be able to go because of the rods he has in his leg now! So don't talk about what you don't know! And yea the 32 yr old didn't deserve to die but thank god the teenagers didn't lose their lives because of them now they just have to suffer will all their life changing injuries.

You people are disgusting. Up on your high horse like you're a pristine individual who's never sped in your car or taken a wide turn. Yes it was careless, but shame on you for being such callused scum. You're the kind of people that shouldn't be breeding (in case you're wondering, that's for you Richard Cranium). They were amazing people and their offspring would have been equally so.

You all have the right points to discuss, however "The Truth" is correct - The Teens in the Honda Civic were at the mercy of Mr. Gannon's choice.....That poor choice of driving over 50 mph in a residential neighborhood (that is posted @ 25 mph) killed him and his passenger and effected the lives of the 4 teenagers. One of the teenagers (driver), now can not even serve his country. His entire life and the 3 other teenagers lives did not have to be effected by a person that has no ethics, dignity, accountability, or the respect of others. If Mr. Gannon survived - he would have been sentanced with a felony Man-slaughter and felony assult with a motor vehicle to 4 people. Driving is a privilage not a right! God has funny was of thinning the herd.

Yeah but we didn't didn't put the lives of a bunch of kids at risk by our careless actions. I have zero remorse for the driver who could have killed those innocent kids!!

And yet today a 59 year old driver ran a stop light at Elmira and nut tree road and hit a woman in the crosswalk. Another low life that doesn't think laws apply to him. Thank god he is cooling his jets in a cell tonight. I have no remorse for drivers that kill and injure innocent people because they are too damn stupid to follow the law.

Throwing stones helps no one. It was a horrible accident. Poor judgement by the driver, but no one here should be judging character. Jovy and her sister were both friends of mine in high school, and we will all miss jovy and sympathies go out to her family. Shame on you all who can't keep the focus on the tragedy as a whole. Senseless yes, but no point in belittling the dead.

I am sorry your friend was a victim but the irresponsible actions of her friend caused her death and what is sad is that he chose to drive 80 mph on a street with a posted limit of 25. It was a stupid decision that hurts many families including his own. No one can defend that irresponsible decision

I have never made a decision that resulted in anyone's death because I know the possible of ramifications of acting in an irresponsible manner.

You were there????

That would be the only way you could know with any certainty how fast the kids were traveling.

Wait a minute, in post #9 he was going 50 and now he is up to 80. Amazing that the speed of the car is still increasing a week after the crash and death of the driver.

All of you armchair experts should get your made up "facts" straight before spouting off and putting your smelly foot in your mouth.

After the investigation it was determined that the speed he was traveling was 80 mph. The 50 mph statement was before all info was gathered.
