My daughter has been rapidly gaining weight over the past couple of months. She has always been thin and this has come from out of nowhere. I took her in for a doctor's appointment earlier this week, and the doctor and myself were shocked to see that she had gained over 60lbs since her last visit right after thanksgiving. When I was doing a cleanup on her computer the other day, I decided to view the history. It seems she has been frequently visiting some websites that have to do with weightgain and bigger women. I was outside in the yard earlier this evening and I decided to be nosey and peek in her window. She had junk food spread out all over her bed and she was stuffing food in her mouth just as fast as she could. I watched her eat two entire boxes of Little Debbie snack cakes in less than five minutes. I have not confronted her about this yet. Does anyone have any advice they can offer?
Well there are some people out there who call them selfs "Gainers" I counting myself as one of them. Gaining is a a sort of lifestyle inwich people will eat and attempt to gain as much weight as they can. I went throught the same presses. When I started I was about 120lbs and now after 2 years I am close to 500lbs and 5'10 inches. The best thing is to confront you're child and inform her of the health risks and let her make her own decision. Try to make an agreement with her saying that she can continue to gain as long as she goes to the doctor consistently to get checkups and must loose the weight right away if she encounter bad Heath conditions.

i'm sorry u have to through this. i myself have a problem with binge eating at times. but since she is so young, it'll probably be best that u guys work something out together before its too late for her to get back to normal. for me i gained 300 pounds in a year and weighed close to 500 pounds. it was scary to have everyone worried about my health saying i wasn't gonna live much longer. that what made me realize i was wrong to want to make myself bigger. so maybe look up a few stories and share them with your daughter. try to break through but be gentle and ind. i know your worried about her but no matter what you do, it could create more stress on her causing to eat more. and she may result back to eating like that again as soon as she moves out as well. i don't really know what u should do but take it slow,, even if that means she gains another 200 pounds before she realizes what she is doing. but u need to support her no matter what. she feels emotional stress and is finding comfort in the food. so maybe try to find a way to comfort her. sorry if this was really no help at all but maybe it was. Good luck!

WOW no feedback from her mom in over 2 years. I'm guessing that young woman will weigh close to half a ton by now if she kept up her progress, can't see what her boyfriend can get out of this other than making her immobile. My question is how does she afford all her junk food, disability cheque can't buy much, I'm guessing she'll be confined to her bed by now.

Try and gain with her - adding 50 or 100 pounds will give you something to talk about, and indroduce you to the fat accepting lifestyle.

I've been going through a similar situation. my daughter started gaining weight when she was 18, because of her boyfriend too. my husband and i noticed, and we tried to stop her, but she refused to stop, and she moved to Boston with her boyfriend. She hasn't talked to us since she moved, so i have her best friend updating me on everything. she was around 187 lbs when she moved, and now two years later i find out she's 433 lbs, and still wanting to keep gaining. Her friend also told me that she is very happy with her life ever since she moved. Her friend is trying to get her to contact me, but she i was told that she is still mad at my husband and me. I have no idea what to do.

What has her best friend said recently? Does her friend know where she lives exactly? You should go to her and try to make this whole situation work. I know you said you didn't like this whole weight gain when you found out she was doing this, but i think you and your husband should support her decision she's been out of the house, so she is an adult. It was her decision when she was 18 to start this. Make sure she checks on her health.

Thank you for your advice. My daughter's friend told me that she met a bunch of friends in her area of MA on the internet that are into the "Bigger Woman Fetish", and they buy her a ton of food, like pizza, cake, ice cream, donuts and much, much more. She started using this website "BBWChatZone". She set hers to private, so i made a fake account to get in contact with her (Obviously pretending to not be her mother), so we made a plan to meet up half way between my city and hers, so i will get her to talk to my husband and me then.

Once the world was filled with people willing to die doing what makes them happy. People who gain know the consequences and have made their choice. A longer lofe being unfullfilled or a shorter life of happiness. Also... fat fetishes are the second most common fetish aside from normal sex. Some people want skinny and slender, others want athletic and tone, old and wrinkled, thin and cadaverous, and others want a bbw or bhm. Accept it because it may be the only way some people can get off.

It took her a while to actually talk to me when we met up. When she actually decided to talk to me, she told me that she weighs over 450 lbs and the fact that she wants to get to 500 lbs concerned me the most. She says that she has been very happy since she started this. She has a different boyfriend than before she moved that also liked her weight gain. It just drives me crazy that this is actually happening!

Her boyfriend won't last long and when he is gone she will be so unhappy and 350 lbs for a 16 year old is morbidly obese so I would worry because she is going to be very ill before she is 60 make sure she doesn't start posting pictures of herself on line in a bikini or something.

You THINK she's getting fat on purpose.

It should really be titled:

"I know for a FACT that my 16 year old daughter is getting fat on purpose"

(But that's just a word of advice)

If she wants to gain weight she should move to Texas cause they r well fat there and being fat is not in and is very unpopular a girl in my class started gaining weight and posted videos on youtube of her in bikinis but now has lost most of the weight and is really embarrassed and gets bullied so ur daughter has made a bad choice.:)
