I have a friend who has taken ADHD Drugs all his life, and let me tell you, he is 40 years old and STILL living at home. Although I agree that some drugs are needed, many are abused and over prescribed. I have a minor case of ADHD and marijuana has helped me personally.

over 250 world health organizations that SUPPORT medical marijuana, and so should you! MPP.ORG

Look at how many lives that the legal drug alcohol takes every year; hundreds of thousands! NO ONE in the HISTORY of MANKIND has EVER Overdosed on marijuana. Can't happen, unless you EAT a pound or two, in which case, seems anything would kill you at that point.

Over 800,000 people were arrested in the USA last year for marijuana and about 90% of cases were minor charges. Time for some new laws! Thank you MPP.ORG

I think there are many solutions. If you look at ADD as a whole there are a number of things, when used in tandem, can help, but I dont think there is one single cure. Its certainly not a medicine, or magic bullet.

It takes understanding of the condition first, and then trying various things at various times - to really make a difference.

I have tried a variety of medications for ADD; including Ritalin, Adderall, Adderall XR, Dexedrine, and Strattera. Each has benefits along with side effects. After several years medicating with central nervous system stimulants (CNS) I switched to Strattera from http://indiantrustedpills.info . I found the medication took a few weeks to take effect, and tended to cause constipation. I also found my psychological state was less effective if I became dehydrated. To counter the side effects I added All-Bran into my diet twice a week, and drank more liquids. The big benefit for myself was I could enjoy reading books again, which I could not on the CNS stimulants.

Indian Strattera from http://indiantrustedpill.info works great. I am able to focus and am able to do more tasks at once, which my job requires. I am now able to sit down for more than 10 minutes at a time and read, write, and study for my college classes. The only thing that bothers me is that I sometimes forget to take my dose of medication. Other than this instance, I am able to function better as a person!

RE: Abuse of ADD/ADHD Rx's of concern to the public....Nothing new about this nomanclature. The abuse of stimulents have been in the news lately. The fact is, With the pressure to make the grade in colleges and universities, the taking of stimulents are common place. Some claim the use of these meds can make the difference of as many as two grades. From C's to A's. Some feign symptoms of borrow from others to study for all-nighters and just to pass difficult course loads. In the past, truck drivers and others concerned with weight issues were perhaps over-dispensed.

Some in the medical profession, and of course profit driven pharmaceutical companies were eager to point out the efficatousness of these agents. Some even saying there were more than twenty indications for these drugs.

I was diagnosed with ADHD in 6th grade and have taken Indian Stattera ever since. I am a college student now and its worked so well for me that I continuously make good grades. I would recommend this medicine to anyone who is having problems finding one to work.

RE: Addendum to abuse of ADHD Rx's- Commonly prescribed for narcolepsy as well as pediatric, teenage, young adult and adult ADHD/ADD, some claim a 'epidemic' of abuse by those not diagnosed with the criteria. During WWII, all sides used stimulents to keep alive as well and aid in the infamous "Blitzkreig".(The German word for lightning war)-mainly mostly at 1st. The British, of course, lastly the Americans. Adolf Hitler was injected at the beginning more than 4 times /day of a designer stimulent. That formula was illegal in Germany, so a chemist was ordered to conjure up this particular agent more powerful than the present day Rx called Desoxyn. The US uses both Dexadrine,(jet pilots) and others such as Provigil as well in Iraq and Afganistan mainly front line infantry. A entire plethora of psychotropics as written by US medical personel for many disorders. INCREASINGLY, congress is in continuous debate and under fire for overprescribing in combat and other situations.

Although I support the legalization of marijuana, I highly disagree with it helping me with ADD. Maybe if someone is very hyper it could calm their ass down, but for the "spacey" daydreamy lot of us....ehh. When I smoke the last thing I can do is sit and concentrate on homework. In fact it's almost like it magnifies some of my symptoms and I just eat and masturbate and get lost in my head. I always make sure I finish what I have to do before smoking.

And yeah some people abuse the meds but in my hometown they are next to impossible to find. The few people I have told I'm medicated to I've regretted it. Very very hard to find. Narcotics, on the other hand, are everywhere.

It seems more like people just want them because of all the attention they are getting. Talking about how much they are abused makes it look like there must be fun to be had with them.

The people who have asked me for them aren't people who take them a lot. In fact one person who said he might be interested in a couple had told me that in the past he tried it and didn't have a great experience... so why'd he wanna do it again?

I was diagnosed with AD/HD 2 years ago. I have tried many medications: ritalin, concerta, ritalin LA, Welbutrin & Straterra which all made me very anxious - it actually made me worse. I'm on Efexor and Epilim at the moment and I seem to just be coping. The Seraquel and Resperidal made me depressed. Has anyone experienced this and has anyone any comments or suggestions? Remember we don't have Adderal and Vyvance in South Africa which I think it would push me over the 'edge' because its still a stimulant anyway.

My attention was not deficient last Nov. when they cut out thirty grams of my prostate gland out of my lower GI tract. Coming out of the drug rendering me unconscience, I -well howled a bit from the large chuck of the nerve rich tissue excised due to BPH. The RN asked: "Are you OK?" It reminded me of Pulp Fiction the movie....I told her quite frankly- No,..- I pretty far from "OK"....My god, I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy!-At least they had 2 x-tra strength Tylenol for me later....-No more than 325 mg please......Put that in your "Black Box".

Pain is subjective, what hurts me doesn't distress someone else. After all, pain builds character. If it heals -it may kill....I support treatment for intractable pain. Prison is not treatment-it's more pain to deal with. These country club prisons are too good for these heinous criminals. Methadone isn't good for you, and it's addictive. So marijuana? Hmmmmm....Have the inmates grow it for tax money to run the prison, never mind some are in there for doing that ANYWAY.

ADHD/ADD has been underutilized-and continues to be taken as directed. Luckily, the FDA has OK'ed the use of these agents for adults. They are covered by insurance as well.
The family MD can dispense Adderall, Ritalin, Provigal, desoxyn among just a few. The effectiveness when taken as directed is truly remarkable! See your Dr about tests covered by Medical/Pvt./and other insurance carriers T Kenneth Lawson RPhT -

Contrary to some opinions, ADHD Rx's are minimally addictive. Ask your Dr, PA-C or NP about your Childs grades and Tx for ADHD.
