It depends on the WOMAN, obviously. A growing number of women prefer womanhood WITHOUT motherhood. The choice NOT to have children is just as valid for women as the choice to be mothers.

Also, there are women, myself included, who only wanted ONE child and no more. I really enjoy being a "done after one" mom and have no desire or intention of going back to the pregnancy, infancy and toddler days. Doing it all once was enough for me.

A lot of folks have made the childfree decision and like you, thoroughly enjoy life without children.

I hope you don't get too much grief from family members and friends about it. There are many who still think "you're not a real woman/man until you have children" and other such NONSENSE.

I'm lucy that DO support by belife and accept that I won't have kids. They know I wouldn't be able to handle human parenthood and prefer to help me spoiled by four legged childen with treats. My mom said that she happy that I don't have human childen because being grand pet parents is much more fun and easy then human grand childen parents.

Yes, you ARE lucky, because I know some childfree folks, especially women, who get constant grief from their family members about their decision not to have children. It's a good thing that your family does support your decision.:-)
