The Queen Mary is in dire need of a paint job. I've never seen it looking so run down.
Also, what's with the submarine occasionally listing over to it's right side? That doesn't look safe for tourists at all. It looks like it's at about a 35 degree angle.
I know the Press Telegram doesn't have any reporters left that are worth a crap, but is anybody else looking into this?

The city sends out notices to people who don't keep up their buildings. Why aren't they sending notice to the owners of the Queen Mary to paint their rotting boat, or move it somewhere where it can't offend the public?
We should demand the Queen Mary cleans up it's act, or start leveling daily fines.

Has anyone seen the area around the Queen? Desolate and empty. There once was a little village surrounding the Queen BUT the economy took care of that so what is there to see at the Queen? This is a tourist attraction, really?
A Russian submarine in bad need of a pain job, listing, due to rust and holes.
If this is what supports the tourism in LB, we are in BIG trouble.
Shame LB has gone to the dogs.

Well, First Off LB owns the Queen and it is run (Horribly) by an outside management company! It is a running Hotel and attraction. They have 3 eateries a in house museum to Princess Diana and does well enough with its Holiday attractions to keep it Afloat...ahem....the sub is not owned by long beach and recently was filled with trash bags and 2 litter soda bottles to keep it up, ill never go in that death trap....

I used to go there a couple times a month for one thing or another, showing it off to visiting friends, etc. Since they started charging for parking, I've only been there once. It's not worth it for the predatory gouging you now have to take. It certainly eliminates the casual shoppers who might visit their gift shops or stop off for lunch with friends.
It's a shame that ship has to sit and rot because nobody is educated in marketing.

There have to be people who design public places who could be hired to shake the queen mary rug. Who was responsible for designing the Grove in Los Angeles? That's a highly successful enterprise, not half of which has to do with it's design.
Couldn't we hire those designers, and ask them, "aside from sinking it, or setting it adrift, what would you recommend to be the best actions to initiate to reinvigorate this ghost-ridden abominable rust monster into something that isn't a shameful embarrassment?"
I'm sure they'd have some good ideas, based on their past success!
