Why are Our Catholic Laity So Illiterate When it Comes to the Catholic Faith

There are 10 comments on the Free Republic story from Jun 1, 2013, titled Why are Our Catholic Laity So Illiterate When it Comes to the Catholic Faith. In it, Free Republic reports that:

BLAME THE TEXT BOOKS, BLAME THE TEACHING METHODS AND BLAME THE PARENTS, BUT BLAME THE BISHOPS, PRIESTS AND CATECHISTS TOO, BLAME EVERYONE INCLUDING SATAN, EXCEPT NO ONE TEACHES ABOUT HIM ANYMORE OTHER THAN POPE FRANCIS, DON'T BLAME HIM! All of us know one of the elephants in the room of the Catholic Church.

Just don't blame the nuns. These holy women really tried to live their faith, with few exceptions.

You have to be a little bit UN-educated in the first place to be in the Roman Church

because otherwise All one would have to do is read the little Book of Daniel

work out the symbolism of The Kings Dream in Daniel 2

match it up with the Power of Daniel 7 and they would say whoops I'm in the wrong Church

Imagine Daniel is a Forbidden Book of the Catholic Church, even though God Says He Blesses those Who would read it, The Same with Revelation

"Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand." Revelation 1:3

Better work out who the Purple and Scarlet Beast is the One who sits on 7 Hills and many waters
has a Golden Cup, speaks Blasphemy, wears out the Saints etc

"Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces." Daniel 7:23

Ok the Beast is a Kingdom, sure you got that

"Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence." John 18:36

Two points worth noting

*Christ's Kingdom isn't on this Earth
*If it was His people would Fight, but it isn't Now

So the Power that Persecuted God's People for 1260 Years Ironically telling people that they were doing God's Will What would Christ think of them?

"They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service." John 16:2

When Emperor Constantine died and The Roman church Crowned itself Head of Rome it then did Atrocity's in the name of God, it also was a Cruelest Tyrant to All of the European peoples

Ya know I just have to point out that this does not correspond with actual history.

Did you mean to say that Catholics are forbidden from reading the book of Daniel? If so you are mistaken.

..... There are many people who don't want to be bothered about any of the many theologies. These peeples have their shepherding clergy to do all the religious thinking for them, believe and do what they are told, and hope to eventually get rewarded in heaven, with or without virgins who insist on remaining virgins.

Catholics are not encouraged to read the Bible, they are to accept the teachings and doctrines of the Catholic religion as they are taught as fact, but in reality are all man made. Hence, if you are not a Catholic you are to burn forever in hellfire, same as Baptist, Church of Christ and Pentecostal teach.

If you want to learn the truth about God and life, study your Bible with Jehovah's witnesses, no one can make you believe anything or do anything, you are master of your own will. Take the time to examine what the symbolic language of Scripture is teaching us in these last days.
It means your everlasting future life in God's new world of righteousness or the complete end to your life at Armageddon. Deuteronomy 30:19,20

Uhoh why are we have Bible study and handing out Bibles to children and adults then?

Let alone posting it for free on line.

Illiterate? Yes!

Could it be that they went to parochial schools?

Likely!!
