You are one of the few bw hee who will speak the truth. The others will simply pretend that it is just bm's fault. I am a fair person. Both bm and bw need to reevaluate ourselves.

As a group, Mexicans do not see themselves just as they are today. Just as your group does not see itself only as free Americans, you relate strongly to your history.
Mexican women have a home country where their men rule and have power. It doesn't matter if the country so corrupt, they have a place to see their men exercise power and dominate the society. AA women have never had that place corrupt or otherwise.
White mexican men have all the power. The average illegal is of Mayan or Aztec background and has been run out of his country.

Also Mexico has a magnificent history... AA men have not provided a magnificent history for their women to take pride in.
Men are not just judged by today, they are judged as a group on their past achievements too.
Mexican men have current power and splendid past achievements, African-American men don't and are currently powerless and always have been. Your situation bears no resemblance to that of your Mexican neighbors at all!
Mexicans owe their independence to black Haitians. Simon Bolivar came to Haitians when he was getting beat by the Spanish.
Shalimarr wrote:
<quoted text>Just as it bears no resemblance to that of your Native America neighbours, who would have died before becoming slaves.
Why do people keep repeating this lie. Native Americans were enslaved. The only reason why they were not preferred was because they kept dying so fast from disease and because they were in their own land and could escape.

Very embellished. You can't help someone with their freedom when you aren't free yourself. Haitians are in the position they are in to this day because of poor decisions by that Haitian brute.

Well good for NA's for having the good sense to escape using the knowledge they had of their own country to their advantage. Thank goodness they had enough sense and courage to die rather than be a slave. Good for them for not using slavery as an option.

She is now 30 with 2 kids... why did she put herself in that position? She has now diminished her chance of getting a relationship with a quality man. Most men don't want to take on a woman with 2 kids. Also because her kids'father has 4 children to support, he can't afford to pay her generous child support and the court understands he has other commitments.
She was 25 when she started this, no biological clock ticking.. so why did she get pregnant twice for a man who wasn't her husband, had other kids and had made no lasting commitment to her?
Great question.

If there has been a failure, then it has been a collective failure; not one that can be singularly ascribed to black men. And the unwillingness of black women to acknowledge in any way, shape or form, complicity in our predicament, only underscores the hopelessness and futility of continuing to see ourselves as sharing a common destiny. So, I say let us acknowledge that our disrepair is a permanent one with no possibility of redemption and leave each other to our respective devices.

It staggers the imagination, that the black women, the bearer of life, the teachers and nurturers of the children can disclaim responsibility for what they have produced. Even in the worst of circumstances and conditions where the men are absent or abject in their dereliction, how can the PERSON not in the child's life (the absent father), have a GREATER IMPACT on the child than the person, THE MOTHER, who is in the child's life on the daily basis? Mathematically, it makes no sense!

How is that she as a single parent is entitled to praise and veneration for her sacrifices on her child's behalf when he or she walks across the stage at the commencement ceremony at Harvard, but get's to claim exemption when her child is an unproductive member of society that becomes a thirty year guest of the penal system? Are absent fathers derelict in their duties and responsibilities......absolute ly, but bw refusing to put aside their ego and vanity in the corrective interest of future generations of black children makes our future together untenable.

As individuals....not just as men, we are the aggregate, the sum total of the individual choices and decisions that we make. No amount of societal created syndrome excuses or gender mitigating reasoning can alter this immutable truth.

We each bear responsibility for delaying gratification in order to empirically vet our prospective mates and can not opt out of the consequences, intended or otherwise, of failing to do so. And though we as imperfect beings are entitled to mistakes, we are responsible for not allowing them to morph into errors by intransigently refusing to acknowledge and correct them.

As the gentler sex, I'm all for grading women on a curb, but not at the expense or the children who are here presently and those who will be so in the future. Black men need to protect and be responsible with where they place and leave their seed, and bear responsibility for that which they co-create; and black women need to bear responsibility for what takes place with her bodies and with their womb. And each of them must accept the real possibility that a situation may manifest where it becomes necessary that they may have to go at it alone.

We have had BM leaders who were all about Black Empowerment but is this because of American racism or because these BM value Blackness?? BM need to value Blackness in order to PREACH about Black Empowerment but it starts in the home. It's starts with BOTH BW/BM NOT buying into white supremacist views. Brainwashed BM will NOT take charge when many haven't even taken charge of their own brainwashed views. Most of these views held are passed down by Blacks themselves. If we want leaders, we have too create them ourselves. I agree BM should lead but you believe BM would lead because The Community needs leaders. Apparently this doesn't seem to be reality.

Funny, Don Lemon and many others say there are no "Real Black Leaders" anymore.

Do not confuse what individual Black men are doing vs. what Black men as a collective are doing.
The 19 million Black men in America extend far beyond your inner circle and mine. Its about stepping back and looking at the larger picture of what is taking place in Black communities around the country.
Are Black women too independent because we
want to be or because many of us have to? There is a major difference.
You made a statement about your brother planning on marrying a woman who had a father and has a more balanced view on relationships.
Great! Now what about the many Black men who abandon their children? Who will give them guidance if the men continue to walk away?
Not everyone will marry, but that has nothing to
do with taking care of your own flesh and blood.
In every society men take the lead. There are some Black men who are exceptional in this area, but they are in the minority. The Black community would not be in shambles if the majority of Black men were taking charge.
There is no way around this reality.

<quoted text> What does black empowerment have to do withe providing for ones own kid? I don't understand why this has to come down to a race thing. Some things are simply basic--across the board generalities. Certain things, in fact most things, have nothing at all to do with race. We are all humans and should agree on basic things..such as providing for your own kid and certainly should see those who feel differently are in the minority as opposed to the majority.
Because race seems to matter. If you watched Dark Girls, you would understand how some Black children are viewed & treated because of how they look by their own Parents. Black children who state how their relatives are MORE in awe of their lighter siblings. This shows how some Black children are NOT even valued.

Sadbuttrue, I never really kept up the Kim's and P Diddy's relationship because I have always found it so distasteful and disrespectful on Kim's end. Girl I didn't even know they had permanently broken up. Even back in day when Diddy was with J-Lo, he spent tons of money promoting her, took her out for her to be seen everywhere on his arm, asked her to marry him and when J-lo left his azz he try to beg her back for years. He have sported other such women before kim also. But what does Diddy do for a woman(Kim) of his same race of complexion? Makes her into lower grade babymama. I blame Kim also for agreeing for all these years to be Diddy's beck and call girl when ever he was between Latina, white women and biracial women. Frankly I don't know any black men in his and Lebron's positions where women are chasing and throwing their panties at them all of the time that these men don't cheat once in a while unless they are saints. Kim and Savannah know this already but at least Savannah has the title and respect of wife and their children are legit while the other woman have the title of hoe. If divorce occurs then Savannah is the wife and the one who is walking away with millions to live in wealth and security the rest of her life while Kim who had devoted her life to a man who didn't even care enough about her to marry her, could whine up broken, poor and in the projects.
Disrespect is disrespect to me! I understand why BW date and marry out as well as cheat on BM.

I have a friends Jose who married and attractive BW and has 4 kids with her. They are both into fitness but for some reason, Jose felt entitled to cheat his wife lost her high paying job. Prior for 8 years she carried Jose while he worked low end jobs.

She joined a organization while searching for a job and she met someone older than her in his 60's who owns the organization. Jose told her she couldn't drive the car because he wasn't paying for her gas because she was unemployed! She would catch the bus, in DC and 4-5 months later her guy friend offered her a Jaguar to drive around in which was only 3 years old.

I told Jose your wife is cheating on you! He said No Way but I do and laughed..........Well I guess his wife got the last laugh, she left him with 4 kids and moved in with the man. She said she'll visit the kids on the weekends! LMAO

Lets see how Jose can manage to continue to cheat since he has to raise 4 school age children!

His wife left him for another man!
