North Korea's New Image Shaped by Platform Shoes, Earrings and Cell Phones

Attempting to forge a new image for himself and his country, North Korea's youthful supreme leader Kim Jong Un is allowing women to wear pants, platform shoes and earrings, making more mobile phones available, endorsing previously banned foods like pizza, French fries and hamburgers - and he's giving kids free trips to zoos and amusement parks.

Platform shoes, eh? Polyester leisure suits, Pong & Disco can't be far behind. I knew that North Korea was slightly behind technologically, but damn.....the 1970's? Really? At this rate the X-Box should be available in North Korean department stores, in time for X-Mas of 2047. It also says that more cell phones will be available. It would be funny to see North Koreans carrying around the Motorola DynaTAC ("The Brick"). I wonder what movies will premier at North Korean theaters? Star Wars: Episode IV? Jaws? The Godfather? Hey, maybe they'll open a "Studio 54" in Pyongyang? Does anybody know how to say "Hey baby, what's your sign?" in North Korean? LOL
