I'm so happy I live in Canada...my boyfriend and I have already agreed we'll probably get married in a few years. Hopefully things get better with equality in the States.

Although thinking about it, the person who does the wedding ceremonies at Toronto city hall might not have been a full judge. The website for the Toronto city hall wedding service describes the person who does the service as the "officiant" but it's not a minister or priest.

Good for you and your boyfriend. Just be sure when you take that step. Remember the "responsibilities" part of your vow. We don't want to do to marriage what our straight counterparts have done. Good luck to you both.

snyper wrote: Where's the Pekin troll to call it all "a cruel lie" ?? I haven't seen him skulking around here for a few days. I hope he's not polluting my city with his presence, but it's possible. Today is the Folsom Street Fair and he may be looking for a brutal leather daddy to punish him for being a homophobic closet case.

These people were together for a few months before marrying. A year later they get divorced and wonder why. I've been with my boyfriend for 3 and a half years now. I think he's the one. We're waiting a few years to get married for reasons such as money, stable jobs, moving out and so on...but one of those reasons is also to make sure that we are ready to commit to being together forever. I have no doubt that I will be with him forever, but logic details not rushing into things and making 110% sure before heading into these types of decisions. I want to have been with him for at least 6 years and have lived together for at least 1 year before we make the big decision. I think that more people should think like this, instead of letting their emotions take over.

Not surprised though. He got busted, then fired from the team and within two weeks the wife filed papers. Sanctity of marriage?

Are you saying they're LYING?*Gasp*

I finally realized the REAL reason they don't want same-sex couples to get married- they're afraid we'll make them look bad.
