My man,I think you really need to accept the FACT that this country is very diverse.I've had the opportunity to travel to more than half of the states in our great Union and you CANNOT help but recognize the contributions of many people from many backgrounds, contributing to the betterment of our country & mankind.

Conservative, Dem, GOP, Liberal---they are simply silly constraints -- if you really sit down & talk with someone, you may truely find that you have MORE IN COMMON that not.I enjoy talking to friends who are Jewish, Hindu,Muslim, agnostic & other...friends who are white, black, asian, Latino or other. Each encounter serves only to expand my horizon, my knowledge base...it ENRICHES me, not the opposite. I've had the privilege of traveling out of the country on many occasions; it ENRICHES my Earthly experience!

Our last administration got us into a whole bunch of @#$#% with a war, the worst economic times of modern times...People wanted a change ...for the better...and they spoke loudly thru the election process.Our President has been in office less than a year, & those of you ilk are crying? Imagine the past 8 years...our kids dying because our leader had a personal vendetta & invaded Iraq? Remember, it was the previous adminstration that proceeded to "Bailout Wall Street"...corporate WELFARE!
I am confident that our Columbia/Harvard trained leader can assemble the best minds in our country(regardless of color/religion/political persuasion)to help us "dig" out of the MESS the neo-cons have brought on us.
Finally, Bob, I assume you go to the grocery store to get your food. If so, please thank a man of color because the refrigeration unit on the truck that brought the food to your store was invented by a man of color. Also, google "the real McCoy"..look at that contribution to our society. You drive? the next time you stop at a light thank a man of color..When you turn on your lights in the morning, thank a man of color...google Lewis Latimer.

Thanks, Laura..Exactly what I was trying to infer...That is the origin of the term. And it was again applied to various immigrant groups as they settled in the urban areas of America.

These yahoos only associate the term with one cultural group,when in fact it was used to define many groups.
