I would like to express my sympathy for the horse owners and all the people those animals made happy in thier lives. I truly pray justice will be served against the young men that did this horrible act. No drug use is going to make you not know that you chased an innocent animal down for seven miles. Lets be real, seven miles think about it, thats a long way to chase and shoot at moving horses. I'm a horse opwner and I do know how horses act when they are scared I can't imagine the fear of the horse knowing someone was shooting at them. If I CAN FIND OUT WHO TO WRITE OR WHERE TO COME I'LL BE THERE TO SEE JUSTICE IS SERVED.

I have a 15 year old son who thinks that the punishment should fit the crime.. His suggestion was to start with two spoons for the boys to dig graves for the horses that they killed. He remembers how long it took to bury a family horse with a backhole. Another comment of his was that if they are minors why did they have guns and who was stupid enough to give'm to them?

The spoon idea is an excellent one - and whoever allowed these boys to have access these guns needs to work right along side them.

I would like to see the people invovled in this case pay for what they did in terms of jail time for felony mischief, parole time, including active supervision once they are paroled and for them to repay the horse owners for the cost of the animals as well as pain and suffering for the pain they put the animals through as well as the ownwer.

I also am physically and emothionally disgusted by what these people did to those poor defensless horses. Looking back in history people who tortured animals have been linked with serial killings as well as rape and torture inflicted on human beings. Also horse theft would result in death by hanging. Obviously these people won't be hung but they should be sent to state prison and then spend time on parole before they are free again. They should also pay for the animals, including punitive damages for pain and suffering they inflicted on the animals and owner. Mike.

What these young men did was a horrible act. They had no sympathy for a defenseless animal, and should feel a magnitude of shame. They were evil and cruel to these animals and deserve the maximum punishment that they can recieve. Who ever suggested 30 days must not care about the cruelty that took place, and the fact that their attorny brought up an issue of medication should realize that no civilized human being will feel sympathy for those boys. God bless the horse owners and the injured horses.

A One Time Thing.......so they should be excused. Get real. They did not, in my opinion, get enough punishment for their crime. You better hope and pray this was a "one time thing". If not, what or who will be next. That's what I worry about.

Well, if you are a relative, I see where they get their cruel behavior traits from. People do deserve second chances, but I do not believe the punishment fit the crime. Only time will tell now.

Hopefully it's over. Still don't think it was enough punishment. You have your opinion, I have mine. You are a good friend to defend them, but not everyone feels the same as you. I truly hope they learned a lesson, and like I said, time will tell.

You are the hateful old hag. Can't stand someone not agreeing with you.
You are right about one thing. The so-called punishment is over. What they do with the rest of their lives is up to them. I do know both families, and these boys put them through a lot. Hope they appreciate their family and friends support. And I hope they do good things with their lives from now on.
You really need to work on your anger. You should be able to discuss things without name-calling and wishing bad things on people. People are not always going to agree with you on everything, get used to it and learn how to deal with it without getting hostile. People will take you more seriously that way. Just some friendly advice that you'll probably get mad about, but I tried.

It's easy to threaten people with a keyboard isn't it? I could care less about those boys truthfully. They got little of what they deserved. I hope this eats at them the rest of their lives. If those were my animals, they would have gotten more.

OMG at this ghc character!!! A friend is one thing but, if you have the big idea to stick up for someone that did such a cruel thing why not post your full name? Oh yeah that's right because you don't want the local people seeing your name involved do you? Shame on you as well..
