Heart wrenching? Creepy more like. It's definitely weird how he filmed Prince close up and let the camera move from head to toe while it just barely lingered on the other two.

That video has nothing to do with the trial and everything to do with tugging the heartstrings of the jury so that they rule in favor of the Jacksons.

What a circus.

Yeah. Well none of them (besides Jackie maybe) really had a "normal childhood". Jackie had entered his young teens when the Jackson Brothers formed in 1966 (not 1964 as some Jackson family revisionists would have you believe). Tito was only twelve, Jermaine eleven and a half, Marlon only nine and Michael, around seven years old.

Funny thing is when Marlon and Michael joined the group, they weren't even singers, they were "background musicians" (Marlon played tambourine and Michael played congas). Apparently this changed when they got into the talent show and MJ did his best James Brown impression. The family (including Papa Joe) saw this performance at Roosevelt High School and Papa Joe began feigning some interest in "managing" his boys, i.e., beat them into submission over a Temptations dance step.

Plus I doubt their childhoods were all that normal anyway when you have a father who not only beat them up but also told them to not leave the house or invite their friends over while he was there. Also their mother's religion made them look like freaks in their Gary neighborhood on Jackson Street. They would knock on residents' doors (mainly Katherine, La Toya, Rebbie and Michael) and get the doors slammed in their faces. Michael, according to people who lived with the Jacksons in Gary, did have childhood friends but time on the road between 1966 and 1969 kept that at modest length. Once fame hit, the Jackson brothers lost contact with the little friends they did have and moved to California.

Also Motown's PR machine convinced Michael to lie about his age. When "I Want You Back" came out in October 1969, he was 11 years old. But in a 1970 interview with Dick Clark while performing on "American Bandstand" in April of 1970, Michael told Dick he was "nine". As time went on, Michael began to use PR to make his age much younger. In 1979, 1980 or 1981, he said he was just six when he started performing. After the release of that fluff "autobiography", "Moonwalk", he claimed his first performance was at five singing a Broadway song at a school recital ("Climb Ev'ry Mountain"). Problem with that is "Sound of Music" wasn't known outside of Broadway until 1965 when that movie came out and by then Michael was either six or seven and I doubt Gary radio was blasting that song even after it came out in 1961. There's no recollection from anyone that Michael had started singing at five. Papa Joe surely wouldn't recall it, Mama Kate repeated the information saying her grandfather and his siblings saw it and claimed she was the one who convinced Papa Joe to get MJ "in the group" even though he already was, as a background musician.

Then in 1993, when the eccentricities got to be too much, Michael explained his odd behavior by saying "I didn't have a normal childhood." At the Grammys, he even dismissed his Jehovah's Witness religion stating, "when I was little, there were no birthdays, no Christmas" but he didn't say directly that it was because he was a Jehovah's Witness at the time. He never even publicly announced he had left the Witnesses. Someone had to say it for him.

Randy was ten when he joined his brothers on the road as a backing musician (congas) and Janet was only seven and their childhoods were over too. All of them had messed up childhoods, from the father and mother, to the children themselves.

Jackie was the most abused child, in that family. So, you're right. None of them had a decent childhood, being raised in THAT household with THOSE people. So much for f'loons insisting it was only Michael who never had a childhood. But your information is interesting. It validates what I was told, too, but with more details.

It's too bad CPS wasn't then what it is, today. Those children should have been removed from Joe and Katherine and placed with relatives who actually loved them and would have let them be just children.

As an afterthought, when I look at some of the covers of their first albums and singles, what has always stood out to me is how young they were. Even though Jackie was in his early teens, they were all still just little children.

Yeah and Jackie definitely got it worse than Michael. There's many accounts of when Papa Joe would threaten to "discipline" Michael, Michael would throw his shoe at him and La Toya later said Michael would run so fast Papa Joe didn't even bothered catching him.

When they were rehearsing, Joseph punched Michael in his face around eight years old and a half (1967-ish) during a rehearsal and Michael looked at Joe and said "if you hit me again I won't sing another note!" And Michael's account to one of his "special friend's" parents was that Joe said "the fuck you say to me?" MJ continued: "if you hit me again I won't sing another note" and according to Michael, "that was the last time he ever hit me because he knew if he did, it would be over."

Joe tried other methods to hit his children without drawing blood because he used to draw blood from his whippings. Jackie did get it really bad. So did Tito. Oddly enough, Michael mentioned that Marlon "got it the worst" when they were rehearsing. It seems Joe played favorites with Jermaine and Michael, if you can call it that. And Katherine didn't even demand he stop.

I also heard Marlon was beaten the most, during rehearsals, because he had a hard time keeping up with the others.

Interesting you mention Joe favoring Jermaine. Look how Jermaine turned out.

I don't know about Michael being his favorite. The person who lived down the street, in Encino, said Michael was removed from school, by Joseph, and not because his fame got in the way. It was because Joseph wanted him to rehearse all the time. The others went to school but were expected to immediately come home, afterward, to the locked compound. But Michael was isolated and home schooled. He was the cash cow. No wonder he went crazy.

Ah I see. Yeah, Jermaine was his favorite then. Yeah Joseph definitely sowed the seeds of Michael's destruction.

Yeah, Marlon himself also confirmed he was heavily abused by his father and that's partially the reason he left Hayvenhurst at 18 and got married to his girlfriend because he couldn't fathom living with Papa Joe. Marlon and his parents became distant after Marlon married. And because Marlon married a black woman, they (his parents) didn't get along with her. One of Marlon's daughters later said she felt Michael was inappropriate in his relationships with boys.

Do you have proof CPS did not receive complaints from the families of those children, after he molested them? Do you have proof Michael did not pay them large sums of money?

Do post links, backing your claim.

Where is your proof that they made reports to CPS? There isn't because they didn't.

Refusal to answer my questions has been noted.

Since you're the one who claimed they did not accuse Michael of child molestation and did not receive money, you have the burden of proof on your shoulders. Now, post links, backing your claim. Otherwise, you're just spouting your opinion, as usual.
