how manny teens have died this year in car recks? im starting to get afraide to get my lisen and im 3 years past due for it, but need it to drive my daughter to and from the drs. if im gona get my lison and drive with my infent in the car i dont want other kids my age, or any one for that matter, to be crashing into me i think that every one who has there lisons should be re-examened every time they renue the lison, the written part isnt as important as the driving part it just shows that u understand the laws of the road but it doesnt show that u are capable of following it. teens and new drivers are not the only waks out on the roade, i know how my x drives and hes 22 my grandfathers even worse. they shouldnt be more leanyeat on the older drivers than the younger ones the rules should be the same for every one yes kids r more cear free but adoults can be just as recless. i know more safe teen drivers than i do adoults. after what happened to my brothers and couisens friends at the mall and the two car acsadents i was in wail i was pregnet im afraide to even get in to a car but i have to. i just want the roads safe for everyone. the two car acsadents i was in it was the adoulds falts the first one a 30 yr old women speed in to us at like 50 in a 25 and the seconed my dad rerended this kid going like 5 once the light turnt green. my point, its not just the kids it the adoults too im 19 and well i want to see every one treeted the same not just the younger drivers getting picked on but ever time some one goes to get their lison renewed having to redo the driving part of the exame to keep their lison sometimes ppl get their lison out of a cracker box, and yes it does happen like if ur pregnet when u take the test or in a military uniforme they cut u slack but that just causes problems for other drivers.
what ever they did in fl the roade are safer but busyer down there than up here and they start driving at 15 what can we do without raising the age to drive again?
we have to chang everyones additude about the road and stop driving live new yorkers and its the adoults too.

My brain hurts from reading that, you shouldn't get your license till you learn how to spell and it scares me that you have children.

maaaybe english is not their first language?
lets see you type a flawless paragraph in a language that's not your own.
a good part of the reason the roads are so unsafe is due to people like you, who are more focused on frivolous, meaningless things (like cell phones and radios) rather than the actual problem at hand; driving safely. think about it.

Doesn't this have to do with teens getting killed driving, not how you spell, jeeze, didn't somebody spell tomato or potato wrong.( Just to make sure, I went on dictionary.com ,didn't want to get spell checked.)And he is in politics, lol.I can tell, she is just nervous of driving cause she feels teens and others aren't paying attention to the road, worried about partying, yakkin on cell phone and stuff. So I can see her comcerns.I am very careful when I drive and I can see others are not, she's just worried, and I agree on redoing the testing after so long. And have they started a curfew for teens who drive too, other then to their jobs or school activities.I know it was 9pm, but do they?

They had an accident, let the party that is responsible be relieved of his/her drivers license. For the person that is the owner of the insurance policy increase the insurance payment to triple what it is, for a ten year period. Next time the owner of the insurance policy will think twice before letting his teenager behind the wheel. If the person is rich take his license and let him take the bus.

Hmm, Why do these teens have cars that are so fast? In case anyone hasnt noticed we have alot more people on the roads than ever. I think that considering the amount of traffic we do pretty well. Plus as a bonus we have alot of News outlets mayby it seems like there is more bad news.

I see alot of bad driving some people are just plain stupid! No Distractions Just Stupid moves.
Dont blame everything on cell phones or speeding.

Maybe instead of trying to change the laws, let's take a look at he parents.... All these teens that have died over the past months, look at the type of cars they are driving. In most cases, they were all high performance sports cars. These kids can't handle them. They have just to much power for them. Let's be more realistic in the types of cars that newly licensed drivers have.

Ok--Then maybe she should go back to where she came from and comment where people can understand her. If she is raising a child with English skills that poor how the heck is her daughter going to learn proper English? If you think the fact that this person who can not correctly spell the English language is frivolous, well then let me buy you the plane ticket out of this country!

I believe we need to do more to protect our teen drivers and everyone else who happens across them while en route. I think the driving age should be increased to 18. Other solutions that might work to solve two problems would be to link the license to high school attendance and/or performance. A minimum gpa could be required. This could boost school participation and decrease the number of truant students as they will all know they will not drive in CT without a good performance in High School. I also think that the licenses need to be pulled if they are caught in the act of even one infraction. Our children need us to protect them. We are not fulfilling our obligations on this front.

In the late 80's and 90's the "kids were having kid's" and many of the problems in today's society are a result of this. When I was growing up the "troubled kids" stuck out like a sore thumb, now they blend in with the rest of them because they are the majority. Rude, obnoxious, self serving teens with little or no respect for their parents, people or themselves. Just the other day I watched the interaction of a teenage boy with his father. The behavior and lack of respect he showed towards his father would have caused me great physical pain back in the day and rightfully so...these kids today fear nothing in terms of their parents punishing them....and now they are misbehaving on the roadway's...just an extension of their behavior at home and school.

God help us.......

How many people have to die before something is done? There are way more drivers today then when I was younger, more road hazzards, more single family homes and so on. Why not issue a license to a teen who has a job. a major responsibility. These kids are our future and unfortunetly OUR FUTURE is being depleted.
This State makes no sense, stop teens from driving and maybe we can save more of their lives! Stop selling alcohol and smokes and maybe we can save teens lives. Stop killing our children, OUR FUTURE!

Parents need to realize that they begin to teach their children to drive the first time they strap their children into a car seat. Children learn by watching their parents. Next time you drive to work in the monring notice how fast the cars are driving -- going 80 is the norm on the highways -- and notice how many of the drivers passing you are teenagers -- I don't see any on the morning highway commute -- it is the parents!! Speed is usually the cause of the fatal accidents -- you can survive an accident at a lower speed -- at a high speed you don't have much of a chance. We should add more police to the roads to enforce the speed limit and the penalty for speeding should be as stiff as it is for drunk driving -- only then will our roads be safer for everyone to drive.
