Asthmatics who take daily doses of inhaled steroid medicine fare no better than those who use their inhaler only when symptoms arise, a new study finds.
Hi, Shane here from www.asthmasymptoms86.com
I strongly agree with this approach. I believe the more you use these drugs the more you will become dependant on them. I have been training myself to only use my inhaler when needed and find that I am now more in control of my asthma than before. I practice breathing exercises and yoga for asthma, which also helps.
I recommend that you discuss with your doctor first before you decide to reduce your inhaler doses. The most IMPORTANT advice I would give to you would be to make sure that you monitor your asthma on a daily basis. You can do this by using a peak flow meter http://www.asthmasymptoms86.com/asthma-peakfl... .
This approach does not happen overnight. It takes practice and patience and will depend on a number of things. For instance how server is your asthma, your lifestyle and so on.
I wish you good health!:)

A new and to my mind very promising asthma method has been developed by Dr. Philibert of Louisiana, see http://www.youtube.com/watch... as from 44,09 in the timeline.
