My question (and that of others)...was Mr. Holtrey DIRECTLY involved in the misappropriation of funds? Did he know about these things and "look the other way"?

Were his "lies" in writing and what were they and where can we find a copy? Why do I ask? So we can inform those that are not aware of this.

Thank goodness, stupidity like the above comment is confined to the "close knit community" of bullies, rallying for failure of the current good leadership of our school board representatives.

Obviously the answer to your questions can be found with all those missing financial records and thousands of dollars in unaccountable funds.

So, which one of you "close-knit" community members are lying?
Why do we ask?
So that we can inform those in authority who are investigating this fundraising business which is now under "scrutiny."

If you are responsible for something, and you do not do it, like overseeing the boosters, and making sure that the coaches are doing their fundraising properly, then it is a form of dereliction of duty.

If you are also a coach, then you should know the rules better than any of the other coaches, and not keep off the books accounts and not use the Boosters tax ID.

As AD, it appears that by doing nothing, bad things happened. The school missed out on between approximately $1.5 to $2 million over eight years from the Boosters.

As AD, along with the other ADs over the time period, all the fundraising by the students and parents, for both individual sports and Booster multi-sport fundraisers, is not accounted for.

As AD, he set the pay to play amount without being able to give a single reason for the amount. All parents who inquired were not given a response. The amount of $475 seemed arbitrary at best.

As a coach, he did not run basketball camps and fundraisers using the rules set by the BOE. The funds collected by him, and all other coaches, are nowhere to be found. They were required to complete fundraising documents, deposit with the Treasurer and spend according to rules set bt the BOE.

So, if you are the responsible party, it is in your job description, you are being paid to perform these duties and you do nothing, does that limit your responsibility? If you see someone doing something wrong, and it is your job to supervise them, are you responsible? I think so.

My question (and others who strongly trust our new board's handling of our school's financial and personnel matters) simply put, IS....

Why doesn't Mr. Holtrey DIRECTLY answer YOUR
question?

Would not Mr. Holtrey be the right person to DIRECTLY come forth IN WRITING with a COPY of his records of the proper "appropriation of funds" for which Mr. Holtrey was DIRECTLY responsible for "appropriating" properly; and in accordance to legal and etichical by-laws and polices of board authority?

Dodge Ball Game Over for Mr. Holtrey. Time Now to Even Up the
Score; so that doing what's right for our school children and community WINS over failed leadership of the past (which is still hurting our children).

Some already have. Last year I bought concessions from Kelly Kohls while attending a weekday varsity game.

Yes, I did!! You were out numbered :)
Were you sitting with the close-knit group of "rude ones" that were asked by a board member to listen respectfully while other participants in the meeting were talking?...And were you the ONE who followed as minority board member, Don Miller, left his chair and walkied out of the LGI room? What was up with that smirk that you and good ole boy Don exchanged?
Were you reporting the "tally up" to Don Miller before each of you returned, separately, to your respective seats in the LGI room?
What's Up with that immature behavior in a public meeting?

Absolutely not. There is nothing but speculation on this in order to be able to remove a coach to place a friend of a board member in the position. The removal of coach Holtrey is being done at this time to attempt to make him appear as though he had something to do with booster financials, which he did not. There is no proof, just speculation. Show the proof or shut up with your opinions that are only being put on here to protect the board from yet another means of change for their own personal agendas. So when does Don's buddy start coaching? Again we have yet another personal agenda being fulfilled while a decent man is being dragged through the dirt. You must be a very proud board. Ruin a man's reputation for your own friend's personal gain. Yet another embarrassing, disgusting move. Just wait for elections.

And you now this to be 100% true how? Are YOU not dealing in “nothing but speculation”?

More speculation on YOUR part?

More speculation on YOUR part? Although he was AD during the longest time that much of this ongoing incident occurred. Not saying that he is guilty of any wrongdoing, other than providing what appears to be a general lack of oversight during his tenure.

2 things which you seem to be (A). short of in the latter and (B). long on in the former.

Wow, now there's a large pile of steaming speculation on YOUR part. Perhaps you could show just an iota of proof that he was not even 0.00000001% responsible in some way for the mess the athletic dept now finds themselves mired in.
Real Story wrote:

Who is Don's buddy? More speculation on YOUR part on him/her getting the head coaching job?

Is this where we are suppose to shut up with our opinions...only so we can listen to your unsubstantiated ones?

You seem very sure of yourself...very short on supporting arguments for all your speculation and opinions. I am not saying that Mr. Holtrey is or is not guilty of anything anyone is saying or not saying. Only pointing out that your support of himbefore all the facts come out, although admirable, is no different than anyone else’s speculations, opinions and question asking.

BTW…Whose reputation is “ruined”?

If it is all speculation, then where is the SAB money for the last eight years? And do you really think that Troy's BFF the police chief will be able to find it? Or even try to find it? The proof is that there is NO MONEY!!!

Real Story, are you the real coach Holtrey? Only the real coach Holtrey can speak with certainty telling the real true story, with proof.
All other stories, including Real Story, are really Just Speculation with No Proof that they are the real coach Holtrey telling the real story.

"Show Us The Money." Very appropriate name for this discussion!

I do see your point, Of course, keep in mind that missing money is easy to point out. Proving why it's missing and where it ended up is a big challenge.

My motive is clear (in case that has been lost in the shuffle). If a crime has been committed, prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. No matter who it is.

And of course, a great football season would be nice as well. Not asking too much. 8-2 will do.

Sorry. We don't get the "Sun." Very few people realize what is going on. If these allegations are true, hopefully specific names will be mentioned and brought to justice.
It appears that Holtrey wasn't involved but should have been more of a "hands on" person regarding fund-raising activities.
Lots of common sense people know exactly what is going on; AND it is agreed that "Holtrey wasn't involved" in doing what's right for our school children and community; but had his "hands in" the fund-raising activities. Isn't it time for Holtrey to shoot for the "goal" now and Show Us the Money?

btw -- you can pick up the Sun for free at local business places or "read all about making the case" on the Springboro Sun website.
No need going around with tunnel vision -- Enlighten yourself before telling others ...."it appears...."

Just in case it has been lost in the shuffle:

All interested applicants should have fair opportunity to apply for the open position of coach; including Mr. Holtrey if he is interested; but Mr. Holtrey should not be given special cnsideration just because a small number of close-knit community members think their friend Mr. Holtry is the best.
Aren't we always biased toward our own BFF?

I'm aware of "The Sun." Good paper. I ought to know!(and we'll leave it at that). No tunnel vision here either. We just don't get our information from pompous folks like you! More reliable sources are available. And although they may have the same opinion as you, they are more trustworthy, relevant and "in the know."

Justin....I doubt he'll apply. There are a few high-profile folks that have been contacted. One has already indicated the timing is not right for them. But like our neighbors to the North, we'll find a good one.
