I guess I'll have to talk to you then than. Since I'm not close to your age. I'll be paying taxes for 45 years as well when I get to your age. Another thing, Pittsfield has been a dump for a while now, and can't be blame just on one race.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I have a lot of questions that need to be answered. And I think this is the best souce for those answers. I totally agree, find you where he's from and sent HIM back. If he was given the opportunity to come to this country for a better life, he's obviously not doing so. As such, sent him back. I don't think tho that if he's from, let's say, Jamaica, all Jamaican's are like that...

We have all the lowlifes on Sec8 here and I guess we'll get more with the 40R poilcy in effect now. Please remember Dan Bianchi voted AGAINST this being enacted, and I believe he was the ONLY ONE with enough balls to do so. Please remember all of this in Sept. and again in November at the ballot boxes. This policy has been openly endorsed by Deanna Ruffer and mayor james ruberto, and brought forth by them and appeoved by the council, except Bianchi.I hope the people of Pittsfield are not going to put up with this incompetence either. I agree with you - Dan is goignt to run Jimmy out of town. I believe former Mayor Hathaway open the flood gate on the access to fed=low=income grants and thus the migration started, plus Carm,s hotel brings the families.

You're right, Hathaway started the mess, but these people, ruberto, ruffer and the current council have perpetuated the flow in a BIG way. The families do follow the inmates here, and I think it's because it's a regional jail rather than just a Berk. County jail like it was.

If this was my 72 year old mother-in-law (who btw for some reason shops here every few weeks because of the coupons) she'd be in jail this morning. She packs, and would not have hesitated. Homey got lucky.

Who said he just got off the boat? Not everyone new to this country is a lazy criminal. He could be white, black whatever. Thats not the issue. The issue is he is just a low life punk probable drug addict and he needed his next fix. If he is still in jail he's detoxing real fast good luck

What is Big Y going to do? I shop at Big Y in Pittsfield sometimes. Hate the Big Y in Adams. I am afraid some nut is going to rob me when I come out of that store. Their is a lot of nuts in that store. I have felt afraid a few times before. I guess I will be shopping at Price Choppers from now on. I hope Big Y will give that woman a gift card and pay for the E.R. trip. Thats the least they can do for her.. And I hope the gift card is not for 25 dollars.

Do they have security cameras in the big y parking lot. If they do and post signs saying they have cameras it would cut down on the muggings.

I heard they do have police in the store and outside. And they are quite upset about what happened. Look at what happened at Stop and Shop with that nut. Too many crazy people around here. I wonder why?? But I'm still staying away from Big Y and maybe Pittsfield all together. But Adams and North Adams are not any better off. Does anyone know why we have more crazy people around lately. Its turning into a sad, sad world!

A big company like Big Y is fully insured for unfortunate mishaps should I say. They are the land owner. And as a land owner running a business you would have to have liability. Just as if the woman was leaving your house and got assaulted, I would hope yours or mine home owners and business insurance would cover the bill. She after all, got hurt on Big Y land coming right out the door. There was nothing Big Y could have done. But it did happen on Big Y's land. I know what question I'm going to ask my home owners agent Monday!!! And being a neighborly and family store Big Y say they are. Big Y should pay the bill. Or any out of pocket monies that may add up quickly. The poor woman was 81. What kind of money does she have?? And I'm sure she would be happy just having her medical bills paid for. What would you want them to do if it happen to you with very little health coverage? And a fix income?

Not only is this a huge scam, take a look at the Pittsfield Police Department's Drug Detectives. Now granted, I'm no fan of the police, but I recently found out, that the drug detectives have WEEKENDS OFF. That's correct, they don't work weekends. So, I guess drug dealing takes weekends off also? But even worse, a drug detective will put in for overtime (i.e.-the city tax dollar) when an "informant" calls them and gives them information, even if it's nothing at all. Even better, the drug detective can be in Boston at the Red Sox game when this happens. Their not even in the city or county, but still get paid? What a scam. Don't believe me, call Chief Wynn or the mayors office and ask them. I love Mayor Jimmy, but he needs to take a hard line on the Police Department, much like the mayor to the north of Pittsfield. Plus, were are all the big busts? A supposed gang leader found with 10 grams of crack. Nice job, but look closer than just the story in the Eagle. How much overtime money did this cost the taxpayers? Where are the real big busts? Somebody is bringing this stuff into the Berkshires. I hear about the NY State Police busting people with large amount of crack on the Taconic State Parkway destined for the Berkshires, but no large Berkshire County busts. Why is that? It's time to start asking questions-especially in this tough economy.

I think the cops are doing a great job, but you love mayor jimmy? Are you on the stuff you're asking them to bust people for? mayor jimmy has done nothing for our town, and he encourages the people who trade in this stuff to come here with his 40R and tax incentive programs to build future housing projects. You love mayor jimmy, huh. Why?

Put the guy on trial for attempted murder in the first and if he is found guilty give him the chair.
Make an example of this bastard and crime will drop. If for not other reason than he will be permanently off the street.
