Medicare fines over hospitals' readmitted patients

If you or an elderly relative have been hospitalized recently and noticed extra attention when the time came to be discharged, there's more to it than good customer service.

We are sorry our president failed to protect you and properly honor your service and your memory by flying out to Vegas for a party after news of your horrendous deaths.
Your service and patriotism will be missed by all good Americans even though ignored by our heartless president and his cronies.

Thank God the Supreme Court upheld President Obama’s signature piece of legislation as CONSTITUTIONAL -- which every President before him tried, but failed to pass… the Affordable Care Act aka “OBAMACARE”.

This story/article is a great example of one of the many benefits that the American people will begin to see as our quality of Health Care improves and as the costs of it begins to drop dramatically.

Catch-22 via Obamacare.

Damned if you do and damned if you don't.

How is this supposed to lower costs ?

The hospitals will just find a way to avoid taking in critical patients such as saying they have no beds available.

So a hospital gets fined for pulling a SOLYNDRA ?

this is totally valid.
when my Uncle was discharged, he was on the decline, and was sent to a facility that didn't have the proper equipment to care for him.
he should never have been discharged in the first place.
.
.
very often hospitals discharge failing patients because it looks better for them to admit more patients.
and when a patient is re-admitted, it used to look good on paper.
now it'll look bad, and that's the way it should be.

The SC upheld Obamacre as a tax no matter how stridently Obama argued it wasn't.

Shows just what kind of "Constitutional law professor" he really is.

Btw, have your premiums dropped by $2500 a year, yet?

Exactly.

A third of the $716 billion Obamacare takes from Medicare comes from hospital reimbursements.

Everything Romney said about the 47% is true. Nothing he can say will convince them to vote for him. These Obot shills here are the same. Zombies are zombies.
BUT ROMNEY SUPPORTERS GET OUT THERE AND VOTE! EVERY VOTE COUNTS AGAINST THESE ZOMBIES.
Great job reinforcing the topic that will sink him.

Democrats have built into Medicare, Farm aid, etc. the means of those so-called beneficiaries to scam the system. Even the federalization of education has built in methods of local school boards becoming unduly focused on greed, instead of quality. Ryan's proposals to start relevant discussion about how to counter these systems of Communist type mentalities taking the freedom of people is oriented to giving control back to individuals in their health care decisions, etc. Yes, for forty years, Democrats have encouraged the American public to be apathetic, half of the populace trapped in wanting only to eat cheeseburgers, have drug induced priapisms, kill babies and watch TV. Encouraging them to retrieve themselves from these hells is difficult, but not impossible.

Hospitals just will not readmit the patients and thereby avoid the fines. The patient will be sent to another hospital to fix what the first did not and taxpayers get to pay for it all over again.
Obamacare is a complete joke, robbery of the American people and the fine by the IRS is the gun in the ribs.
Insurance companies can charge whatever they want and drop you or refuse coverage without any penalty on themselves if you cannot afford the premiums.
The promised Public option woudl at least have been competition for the insurance companies.
I am also waiting to have the same healthcare then Senator Obama had and promised to all American when he was running for office. No copays, deductables, immediate access to doctors, including specialists, and no premiums.
Universal healthcare does exist in America, for politicians and illegal aliens who rely on American taxpayers to pay for their healthcare.

That too.

Why not say all?

There would be too much to fill over 2000 pages, bigger than the Obamacare Health Fraud Act.

Ryan on Barack - "All of these policies basically say,'Take power from people, take money from families and successful small businesses and job creators, send it to Washington and then they decide.'"
Romney and Ryan seek to inject greater private competition in Medicare by converting the system's guaranteed benefits into vouchers. Republicans say the plan would save money, but Democrats argue it would expose millions of elderly to rising health care costs.
Ryan was hitting the hustings in Derry, New Hampshire, decrying what he said was Obama's ever-present threat to grow government and further saddle the nation with debt.
"You see, borrowing and spending and regulating and taxing and money-printing -- all of these things do not lead to prosperity," Ryan said.
"All of these policies basically say,'Take power from people, take money from families and successful small businesses and job creators, send it to Washington and then they decide.'"
EVERY time the government has become involved in giving a program to private business that program becomes more expensive and harder for the average person to get. College education comes to mind. It was never THAT expensive until private banks were allowed to hold government loans for education. Suddenly the cost of college is extreme. Retirements. Wall Street encouraged private businesses to toss the pension plan and FORCE workers to invest in Wall Street if they wanted a retirement. A great plan for those with lots of money to invest; not so much for those making just enough to get by. And the price of EVERYTHING is higher thanks to big banks and credit.

If you think turning a healthcare plan over to private competition you're nuts. The prices will skyrocket because that's what businesses do....they do whatever it takes to make money. It will be no different than what insured people deal with now with BCBS and United Healthcare where we are at the whim of THEIR wants.

And if I hear one more word about job creators I'm going to puke. The job creators created jobs in India, Pakistan and Malaysia. Remember?
