I didn't ask whether you believed your God was the God of everyone. I asked whether you thought your God reached out to those of different faiths (and different conceptions of god or gods) and presented Himself differently to such people. Not all religions are monotheistic or proclaim a specific belief in your God.
Why would that matter???? What do 'you' care who accepts GOD and who does not????
The reason I use the terms "God of Abraham" and "Abrahamic faith" is because it collectively refers to the faiths of Judaism, Christianity and Islam, which are recognized as sharing a belief in the same God. Other faiths don't assert a belief in the God of Abraham; they believe in a different god or in multiple gods or none at all.
95% of the world believes in a higher being....for those that do...homosexuality is 'not' compatable with that belief....get over it!

Now now Woody.....secularism is a form of religion for some. Mankind has been trying to prove, or disprove, the existence of a deity, deities, and/or life beyond this physical existence, since the dawn of time. It's not like someone just came out with the notion of God/gods, last week. I'm sure you've experienced a sense of déjà vu. Not everything in life is neat and tidy.

I came across is book recently, haven't read it yet though, looks interesting.

A SCIENTIST’S CASE FOR THE AFTERLIFE

Near-death experiences, or NDEs, are controversial. Thousands of people have had them, but many in the scientific community have argued that they are impossible. Dr. Eben Alexander was one of those people.

A highly trained neurosurgeon who had operated on thousands of brains in the course of his career, Alexander knew that what people of faith call the “soul” is really a product of brain chemistry. NDEs, he would have been the first to explain, might feel real to the people having them, but in truth they are simply fantasies produced by brains under extreme stress.

Then came the day when Dr. Alexander’s own brain was attacked by an extremely rare illness. The part of the brain that controls thought and emotion—and in essence makes us human— shut down completely. For seven days Alexander lay in a hospital bed in a deep coma. Then, as his doctors weighed the possibility of stopping treatment, Alexander’s eyes popped open. He had come back.

Alexander’s recovery is by all accounts a medical miracle. But the real miracle of his story lies elsewhere. While his body lay in coma, Alexander journeyed beyond this world and encountered an angelic being who guided him into the deepest realms of super-physical existence. There he met, and spoke with, the Divine source of the universe itself.

This story sounds like the wild and wonderful imaginings of a skilled fantasy writer. But it is not fantasy. Before Alexander underwent his journey, he could not reconcile his knowledge of neuroscience with any belief in heaven, God, or the soul. That difficulty with belief created an empty space that no professional triumph could erase. Today he is a doctor who believes that true health can be achieved only when we realize that God and the soul are real and that death is not the end of personal existence but only a transition.

This story would be remarkable no matter who it happened to. That it happened to Dr. Alexander makes it revolutionary. No scientist or person of faith will be able to ignore it. Reading it will change your life.

<quoted text>You want a link here it is, You need to ask and be serious(you have to want to) Jesus Christ to be your lord and savior and ask for forgivness of all your sins. Once you do this(its the first great step)just practice what Jesus taught everyone. OH by the way it gets harder because now satan is working overtime to try and get you back. But you will have a big edge in overcoming now. It takes a lot of reading to really understand what God is talking about, but at the same time not really.
To do this you can do this on your own or you can do this in front of wittnesses, it is ALL up to you and no-one else. God would love to see all people come to know him.
Sorry, but I have God watching over me......I don't need a mere mortal man known as Jesus to be anything to me.!!!

And what faith would that be? The big, no name, non-denominational, everyone-that-believes-in-a-hi gher-power faith you think everyone belongs to whether they know it or not? It's too bad you aren't arbiter of who is or isn't "loyal to the faith" or any given faith. Nor did God appoint you His spokesperson on earth.

And millions of actual Christians ad Jews still disagree with your prejudice against gays.

Indeed. But you can't assert your religious beliefs as justification for discriminating against a minority group you dislike. So your religion IS irrelevant to matters of civil law and civil marriage.

In order for me to believe that, I would have to believe your book and the stories in it.......and I don't!!!

It matters when someone asserts their beliefs, scriptures and rules of one religion apply to people who profess a different faith with different beliefs, scriptures, rules and even gods.

Further, if you believe your Abrahamic God is the god of any religion with a belief in a "higher power" even when that religion is polytheistic, then you're implicitly asserting your God manifests to others in ways that are different than from Judeo-Christian religions. Which would be a major contradiction of Hebrew scripture, for starters.

Is your Alzheimer's acting up? Or are these perhaps symptoms of untreated tertiary syphilis?

If there is a restriction on a fundamental right like marriage, and it affects a specific class of people (and a minority one at that), then it's an issue involving equal protection of the law with regards to that minority group.
Get That Fool wrote:

Not in matters regarding constitutional law. You can't assert religious beliefs as justification for a discriminatory law because doing so violates others' freedom of religion. Are you really so oblivious to the world you've never realized legal cases involving same sex marriage in federal court don't cite religious beliefs as a permissible rational basis defense?

Not so...they are just as free to assert "their" believes as well...asserting 'my' beliefs does not stop them from doing so....
