Jun 28, 2012 Full story: News Democrat 19

Concerned Citizens director Dorris Vick says she would hate to go on AM Kentucky, a morning news program on WBKO-TV, and tell them the city of Russellville will not help the organization, but she is starting to feel the city doesn't care.

What makes her think she or her program are more important than anybody else? She made the comment that Mr. Nibbelt thinks gardening is more important than children. I belive he was planing on teaching children gardening. Doris Vick does'nt listen to anyone unless they agree with her. Then there is the law. City surplus must be put up for bids. Its the law! This is just another example of the Concerned Citizens (Doris Vick) thinking the law does'nt apply to them (her). It seems the only thing they (she) are Concerned with is themself. I applaud her for the good work that is done but don't use that as an excuse to bypass the law and then threaten the city for following the law. Let her go on all the T.V. and Radio shows she wants to and let everyone know how much she does'nt know about how the law pertains to everyone. I am a taxpayer and that land belongs in part to me. The elected government body in task to act in my best interest and I expect them to do it within the rules of the law.

"Picnic tables and shelters for the youth" "Have picnics or have other outdoor activities" Is'nt that why we already have city parks? Is'nt there one just a couple blocks from the corner this lot is on? I can already see the Concerned Citizens charging to rent the space for picnic parties.

I'm tired of self righteous attitudes held by some members of this community. You think.everyone is against you, your race, or is doing something to harm your.future generations. You are clinically paranoid. Not everyone is out to get you. If you have the money, buy the land. If not, shut up. As surely as the sun shines race will be made a factor. Just to pressure the city. Concerned citizens are good at pulling that card out. Why should something be handed to YOU, because of something.terrible that happened to people 150 years ago. I know segregation existed up until 50 years ago, but let it go. I have to watch people walk around in saggy pants and I don't complain. Large groups of black people call me cracker and other names. I don't want anything for free. Hand out, take, and gimme. Yes, I guess I am a little racist, but black people are the most hateful.racist group of people on earth. They will get this land, and will charge their "brothers" to use it. Until somebody gets shot.there

You think if you yell loud enough about something the city will be afraid of a "black" law suit stop asking for stuff why you wnat it to let studying kids come smoke pot there after their class then charge for admission???? the city, in your words are wrong for not giving, but then again you think its wrong to arrest someone that has an active warrant. I bet if you signed a warrant against someone and the cops didnt arrest them, the mayor and police chief would have to get on nerve medication and the cops would be dogged again for not doing their jobs. You are a joke and have no idea what the whole town, black and white, think about you. BTW do you work and pay taxes????

I think we all should be ashamed. Why do we go straight to race. I think its despicable to demand land from the city that will be used, eventually only to serve a certain portion of the community. If the land were to be available for all races then there is no problem. However, because of the location of the land, certain people will not be welcomed. It is not wise to threaten the city either. Let her go on t.v. and show her true colors. Why are we coming on here and attacking black people and the Concerned Citizens group. Their representative may be making a mess but its not a black problem its a community issue. Not all black people look for hand outs. No more than whites....and I say that as a white person.

While I share most of the outrage in these posts, I do so for different reasons. Social Services already goes too far in encouraging worthless people who do nothing but drain resources by perpetuating generations of people who have given up on themselves. If you really are a Concerned Citizen, encourage people to take care of themselves, have pride in themselves and make their own way. I am a few pounds over-weight, but if I had to take a handout, by God, I would be anorexic in a week. Humiliation upon humiliation. And shame on anyone who encourages this. If you are not ashamed, I guess we will have to be ashamed for your. Uch!

Oh, I voted for President Obama twice--and would again. This problem came long before this wonderful man.

I don't like her brand of Concerned citizen either. If Mr. Neblett wanted to teach the children how to raise a garden, He really is an effective concerned citizen. Vegetables and GROWING them yourself feeds your mind as well as your body--better than a cheap box of macaroni and cheese. Mr. Neblett has a brain. Let him takeover Concerned Citizens and get rid of that sanctimonious mindset that holds people down.

Why did they even allow someone to fill the position she has, if she doesn't know any more than she does about how things run?
