If you lock your gun and ammo in separate locations, what do you do if someone breaks in?
I think a better approach is to interact with your children as a family. Have family night. Know your children, so if they are suicidal, you know it. Educate children early about gun safety. I know gun safety knowledge will not prevent suicide, but it's a good practice anyway.
The study only took gun ownership into account. Limited possible contributing factors yields limited accuracy of conclusion.
Should we have rope control? Vehicle exhaust control? Bridge control? Train control?...
