How will this affect the values of homes in Ripley? There isn't much there as it is (other than a porn shop)- will this hurt or help?

My guess it will hurt - as demand goes down so do prices.......

I disagree. If someone is relocating to the area and they can get a CLCS education for thief kids and buy a home for half the cost of Mayville it could be a draw to us.

Be realistic - most will choose a school closer to their home. If the high school goes, the elementary will too eventually, and business will continue to decline. No new business will be attracted to our town.
There are plenty of homes for sale around the area and at competitive prices too.
And taxes - there is a very real possibility they will increase for property owners! Right now, they are not going to decrease at all, that was stated clearly.
My friend is already looking to move across the border with her family to NE for the reasons mentioned above.(if the high school leaves)

As long as their is a Rowe on the Board the elementery school will never leave, because the Rowe children might lose their jobs. If they were high school teachers their would not have been a vote on tuitioning. If you doubt that then your new to Ripley.
