Man following kids to school arrested A Santa Cruz transient was arrested Friday after he allegedly followed two boys to school.

What do you expect will happen in a community that opens its arms to the derelict transient population. Get rid of all the transient trash, then focus on getting rid of the gangs. Wow, could imagine how nice our community would be. Unfortunately, it won't happen so Santa Cruz will just get worse.

That guy is really creepy. He's harassed people downtown before and I know he has been banned from a few businesses. When I first saw the picture I was shocked as I know who he is, but I was not shocked that he had done something so creepy. He's usually on a bike and wears a knit hat.

Just wait till one of these guys ends up doing something to a little kid. Unfortunately too late the city might do something about what is overtaking our town.

I've worked with the homeless for over 30 years so I know what I speak of....All the people posting their fears here are absoutly right to be afraid.
Santa Cruz has put up a giant neon sign, seen across the country, welcoming the homeless. I get calls on a daily basis from people who come here because they hear of all the free services (which don't exist anymore). Once they get here, pennyless, they become desperate. They then proceed to dispurse throughout the community and commence to raveage the land. I have a car that I have to junk because a homeless person slempt in it and pissed in it and the stink won't go away.
My suggestion for a solution is to have all those who want to care for the homeless....post your home addresse here and take them off the streets.
Sometimes I wake up with the sweats thinking I am in the movie the "night of the living dead."
I think we should do all we can to help the legitimatly homeless get a new start but we don't need masses of them.

Yeah, Santa Cruz is way too accepting of folks who are "down on their luck". How about we redirect all these folks to a community that needs "service", so these folks could do "community service" in exchange for a cot and a meal? Is there a community that needs recyclables sorted? Trash picked up off the streets/beaches? Graffiti painted over?

Oh, wait! Maybe *our* community could use that!

Put them to work!!!

yeah, i work downtown in between the bus station and the mission where "good christians" hand out food to bad people. ive seen bums smoking crack on the steps out front and crapping in the dirt where trees grow. being a female, i am constantly harassed by these bums, the scum of the earth. keep feeding them, theyll keep coming back. simple as that.

i was one of those bad people. as a result of the mission feeding me a great many years ago, i got saved, got off of drugs, and now have a job and a home. now i help the elderly for a living and play guitar in a church band. i hand food out to the homeless people 4 times a week, but not from elm street. you sound like you need to meet jesus yourself. why not stop into elm street and talk to pastor ben, he will tell you how much christ loves you and how you can be saved from your sins.

That would be like me calling you a George Bush supporter just because this guy is a pedophile, even though he has not been convicted I would tend to agree with the the common belief. However, I know of several SC trolls who would be glad to save the state money. I personally would be glad to. Also I was a troll for almost 20 years, and am currently working on a Master's Degree and am involved with the School of International Policy and Administration. So stop the stereo typing.
