Charles where are you!!??

"OHP troopers say Sharp was driving the SUV east on the highway when he tried to go around a car in a no-passing zone on a curve in the road. When he swerved to avoid oncoming traffic, he overcorrected and the vehicle overturned numerous times, throwing him and Young out".

They did an illegal driving manuever...no not by "accident"..they CHOSE to do something wreckless and illegal and paid the ultimate price by crashing...they knew better but chose the wrong path.

These teen may have made a mistake but it's awful they lost their lives over it. There have been so many teens lose their lives flipping an SUV. Please people don't let them drive these death machines. Teens just don't have the needed experience and good sense for controling this type of vehicle. I realize my comment may upset people but I have known two people in the last year that lost a teenager to this type of SUV accident and there have been many more then that.

Why are you people so mean? It doesn't matter what kind of kids these were they were still someone's children. This will be a holiday season that will be ruined for their families. I know you think you're being clever but there's no need to be down right mean! Granted the driver made a bad decision to pass especially if the weather was bad there like it was every where else...but it doesn't change the fact that their families are mourning their loss today!

I agree with Alisa, too many comments on whay type of kids they were etc. The fact is it was a tragic accident... (look the definition up) it wasn't done on purpose. There are several families griefing and hardly anyone on here can say anything nice. Not to mention there is one child that lived through it and will have to deal with this the rest of his life. Your prayers should be with all these families. Mine are.

thats life folks, you make poor choices and poor and albiet sometimes fatal things happen to you. you say this was a tragedy, the real tragedy was not teaching your kids how to make resposible choices thats the real tragedy here. I see these driving habits on a day to day basis. As far as Darwin is concerned its due to the lack of good moral judgement that led to this. I realize that this won't make it through most of your thick neanderthal skulls but you accuse christians of being narrow minded when its really your rejection of the possibilities that I find narrow-minded.

There are some really cruel comments about choices. How many of us on a daily basis make a choice that could have easily have gone the wrong way. We pull out a little too soon, cruise through that yellow light, allow distractions while driving, and many other things. Teens not only don't have the driving experience but the life experience needed. All kids think nothing like this will ever happen to them but look at the way adults who know better drive.

The deaths are in no way the fault of the SUV. Those 2 teens made the choice to (1) not wear seat belts,(2) pass in a no passing zone; (3) stupidly thinking they are invincible. Well, guess what, they won't have to make the dumb mistakes again. They knew everything and more. yeah!

The people who respond on here are the coldest hearted people, i hope and pray your kids do NOTHING stupid or be a normal teenager. Obviously, you all were perfect teenagers and never did anything dumb (yeah right). Yea, it was a dumb move, but they didn't deserve to lose their lives over it. If i were you, i would be afraid to make those ignorant comments, it may happen to your kids or family members. You're just as ignorant as the ones who make the stupid mistakes. NONE of our kids are perfect, SUPRISE!!!

There is dumb, and then there is DUMB. Just what do you call "normal?"
Kids need to be TAUGHT that every action has a consequence. If their parents do not teach them this, they will need to learn the hard way.

I agree, however, you can teach and preach until you're blue in the face, but some kids just end up doing whatever they feel like doing when they are away from the parents. That is not the parents' fault, it's just the way some kids are. Not saying it's right, it's just the way it is. Some parents are good, righteous parents and bring their kids up right, but for 1 reason or another, some rebel and end up in trouble. Just because the parents are good people, doesn't mean the kids won't make mistakes, regardless of the "acorn". There is no such thing as a "perfect" parent or "perfect" kid. Still yet, you don't make rude comments about someone losing their kids, even if it was a dumb mistake. People who do, should be ashamed of themselves, this is not what God wants us to do, we are supposed to lift each other up and support each other, especially when something like this happens in a family.

How can some of you be so cruel and heartless.
These were teenagers for Heaven's Sake.
Have some compassion for two young people that lost their lives at such an early age and have some compassion for their families.
Even as adults we all make stupid mistakes everyday.
My prayers go out to the families of these young people that lost their lives.
I can only imagine what an unhappy grieving Christmas it will be for the families.

Hey sounds like to me that these kids were thugs. I mean no one is talking about being friends with them or how nice they were. Sounds like maybe people around your town are happy to be rid of them. You know not only do teens drive crazy when the weather is bad, adults do to. Passing in a no passing zone is done everyday. It is done by adults with families and teens that make A's. Yes they made a choice that caused their lives to be taken and could have killed the driver coming from the other direction. They were young and thinking nothing could ever happen to them. To those of you that think your child would Never drive fast or pass in a no passing zone I hope you are never disappointed.
I have a son and I would hate to have to bury him. He drives and we have stressed that a car or truck is not a toy.
My heart goes out to the family of these boys.

All I'm saying is there is nothing in this article to say these kids were thugs. I was a teenager once and I know I drove without my seatbelt on occassion and I'm far from a thug. Yes, they made a mistake and they paid the ultimate price for it. But to say mean and hurtful things at a time like this is just cruel. How would you feel if it were your family member that made this mistake and you came out to read these horrible, mean and totally cruel hearted comments? I can promise you it wouldn't feel good. I know they made a mistake but the only people you are hurting are the family members they left behind...they don't deserve this.

And just remember...you're totally right...karma is a b**** and I hope it doesn't find you!

James Young (JT) was my nephew. He was no thug. He was a good boy with aspirations of joining the US Air Force. He was a devout Christian that had been recenlty Baptised and accepted Jesus Christ in his life. Our family is mourning the loss of a Nephew, a Son, a Brother, a Cousin. There was a poor judgement made, but we all make mistakes as a teen. To the Sharp family, we know what you're going through and you will remain in my family's prayers. To the Vinson family, we pray that Mac will be alright. And that Mac is a hero in our book for running to get help. To the Staff of Gans High School, thank you. Especially to the person that tried CPR on JT. I am so glad my nephew had the opportunity to meet such nice people. To the people that left "mean" comments and called my nephew a "thug", I will be praying that none of your loved ones are involved in an accident. Please stress to your children to wear seatbelts. Give your child a hug and kiss everyday as it might be thier last.

JT, You will be missed and I love you,
Uncle Joe

All kids have their faults. None are perfect. But the comments some of you people have made are completely out of line. We are mourning the loss of a family member and of you people how many really knew any of these kids. I knew JT. I met him a few years ago when I met my husband. He spent lots of time with us. He was a teenage boy with hopes and dreams. I am sure that Geoffrey had hopes and dreams too. These are two lives that have been cut short. Yes they should have had their seatbelts on. No they shouldn't have passed on a curve. But who in this world wakes up thinking that they will go get in a car accident. Have a little compassion for our family. Have compassion for the Sharpe family. Remember that we can't control our kids actions all the time. No matter how well we teach them sometimes they make mistakes. I truly hope that none of you who left such hateful comments about two young boys ever have to go through such a tragedy. But if you do I hope no one says the things to you that you have said to us. Think before you speak. Remmeber what you were taught as a child.... If you can't say anything nice Don't say anything at all. Or didn't your parents teach you better
