He was talking about it earlier this week, about Truthist and C.J. He said that Truthist was describing exactly the same anomalies on her screen that happened on mine right before she was getting deleted. Has anyone seen the 'Easygoing' character on here anymore. That one gave me the willies. He/she shows up at the oddest times. I personally don't believe in coincidences.

I have seen "registered users" that constantly change names (they must have a lot of e-mail addys by now) because they are constantly getting banned. One was/is watamoose, I think that is/was (or some variation there of) his name. Guy was/is an absolute moron. I really dont' think that you have much to worry about on the banning thing.

You would not believe how many times the censor refuses to post me on a first try. I get this "be polite" in bright red letters! What?! Like I'm posting to an eighty year old virgin who might have a stroke on hearing the word 'suck?'I'm not worried so much anymore as trying to connect the dots. I have the feeling that 'science' threads are being watched more than they used to be since the collider saboteurs' arrest, actually, even before that. I know I used a 'buzzword' phrase and then 'bam' there was this stranger commenting on the collider. It was way too coincidentally creepy. Like he had always been watching.

Drinking decaf is part of a conspiracy conjured up by a man's wife and his doctor. Whoa, I am not that far gone. And I am sorry that your wife and doctor don't let you drink normal coffee. Just tell them that the process for making coffee decaffeinated actually makes it more harmful than regular coffee. Sot of along the lines of Fire Safe Cigarettes and toxicity as compared to regular cigarettes. When I can't have coffee I usually resort to Java Monster Coffee+Energy. http://www.monsterenergy.com/web/guest/home

I occasionally get the red "be polite" message, and I assume it is being triggered by some word or phrase I'm using. No idea what word or phrase it is, though. Or maybe it's just randomly triggered by replying to other people. The more you reply to others, the more likely you are to see it.

I guess there's still a little bit of the repressed librarian lurking inside me, worried about what other people think. I have to slap her down on a regular basis. The last warning I got did have the word balls in it, so whatever.

I have studied my posts in the past to find those key words and phrases you mention but to no avail. I've just resigned myself to the fact that Topix webmasters are not exactly 'masters' at what they do for a living. For example, late last nite and early this morning, I was receiving responses to posts I made back in June & July. That happens, of course, but the most recent response was *IN* June & July and not on Nov 11th. I got another about 10 minutes ago. Nothing's perfect.

Chimney wrote: <quoted text> Really? Research into natural abiogenesis is simply looking for what combination of physical conditions and processes could lead to the first self replicators. I think the shoe is very much on the same foot because its YOU who wants to throw in supernatural or mysterious unknown forces, whether we are talking about abiogenesis or consciousness. OK you should know by now that I am not advocating placing my ideas in a science classroom. But it does not hurt to speculate possibilities "out of class" and that's all I have been doing this whole time. And there is really no such thing as supernatural in my book, only unknown. Who's to say these processes that lead to the first replicators are not the result of some sort of "life seed" like soul or consciousness? The mountain of evidence that consciousness is tied to the particular physical structures called neural networks? The simple fact that consciousness has NEVER been observed in any other form. That still is not a good reason to disregard the possibility. How do we know it is even possible to observe it when not causing an effect on matter? And let me elaborate on that because its not simply a case of finding something where we look. Thousands of years of theorising over out of body or purely spiritual consciousness has never yielded one iota of evidence. Research into out of body or mind-at-a-distance type of phenomena has never yielded one iota of evidence. All this looking, and nothing found. Ever. Absence of evidence IS evidence of absence when something has been searched for as thoroughly and for as long as immaterial consciousness. Swinging back to abiogenesis, take a look at the October 17 New Scientist. Yet another case of increasingly plausible routes to abiogenesis through natural mechanisms. "increasingly plausible" is a matter of opinion in this area until it becomes fact. I will say this much, sure there has to be a physical process or manifestation that resulted in the first lifeform/replicator IF it is true that no organized matter existed in this universe and survived the BB. But if we could have "watched" it happen who's to say it was not "directed" by some outside force? Could it have been spontaneous (not directed by outside force)? Using your terminology there is not one iota of evidence to say it wasn't directed. Believe me I hope someone settles this but until they do, don't get too confident that life just accidentally happened and existence 'just is'.

And who said nature initially incorporated these things without "countless other possible nucleic acid type building blocks and impurities"? These could have existed early on, whittled away by natural selection. Again it must have happened but was it directed? I see no way for a spontaneous process to accomplish the current result no matter what was incorporated at first. You have a bunch of building blocks. Then they combine into mish mash. There's no way to build it with infinite rolls of the dice due to natural laws of chemistry. At least none that I can see so far, and it is not wishful thinking, I simply see no way yet.
