A newspaper doesn't like competition and a power hungry politician doesn't like freedom. I'm shocked, shocked.

Everything is DANGEROUS. Comeon. Its not UTUBE or MYSPACE, FACEBOOK. Its the sheer stupidity of people. Yeah. gee. I watched a kid shoot fireworks out of his butt on UTUBE am I gonna go try it? No. Because Im not a moron...people are just plain stupid...period. UTUBE DIDNT MAKE THEM STUPID. MYSPACE doesnt MAKE people go meet some wacked out 60 year old pedophile. People are stupid. They don't think about things before they do them. Thats all.
I agree Eric long before the internet there were people copying crimes, and other things. Because they are stupid.

for those of you old enough to remember Abbie Hoffman's "Steal this Book", it had all sorts of the same info in it. There was a big stink about it but eventually it went away ... and the book stayed on the shelves.
New media, same story, don't like it, ban it.

I like that guy Capeless's quote: "I'm skeptical about the idea (of YouTube) aiding us in an investigation," Capeless said. "If people want to aid us, go to the investigating authority directly."

He sounds like he appeals to the YouTube generation.

We don't need any more restrictions on our rights, just because there are idiots out there. Do some parenting, instead of requiring government to do it for you.
I've talked with a person who came here from a communist country next to Russia; he told me "you guys, in the US, have more rules than I had back where I came from!" Sad commentary on the state of our "freedom", IMO.

You can also learn how to make a bomb from a book, shall we condemn those too?

Well said!!! I totally agree..It's not youtube that is dangerous it is the stupidity of people. Maybe youtube should not allow ceratin topics to be posted on the website, but people really need to get some common sense..Is there nothing better for teenagers to do than try to replicate things from youtube? I'm sick of people blaming things on outside media: teach your child right from wrong and instill some common sense into them..

I find YouTube to be a useful medium for exposing the lies and dishonesty of the overwhelming majority of our polytickians.

The impromptu video shot by the likes of
http://www.wearechange.org
and its many offshoots has been instrumental in bringing to light much of their fraud and deception. Could this be why there is such a gross suggestion that we should submit to repression of our freedoms of expression and dissemination of information?

I wonder if there are any creative types who are familiar enough with the issues to do some "ambush journalism" on Berkshire County's "Capeless" Crusader with their camcorder or video cell phone.

The D.A. was last I knew and ELECTED office holder. Certainly there are other qualified individuals who would be less concerned with formulating and influencing public opinion and devote more time to pursuing justice rather than high conviction rates.

Really, you can obtain the plans for a nuclear bomb on the net.
There has been far too much infringement on the rights of the American populace.

True on both counts.

But, thank God, obtaining the fissionables and the compressing charges and detonators is a bit more problematic.

Yeah I was unable to procure the machinery necessary to obtain the tight tolerances necessary
to machine the chamber for the cojoining of the fissionables!

'Sum of All Fears", Tom Clancy, talks about some Muslim "terrorists" who find a nuke missile from a crashed Israeli jet and reprocess the uranium and some plutonium they obtain from a dude in post Glastnost E. Germany to build a device they smuggle into NYC. Tells of how the fanatics that build it know they will die of radiation poisoning because they are machining the U/Pu "softball" with no precautionaries on a CNC miller/shaper. Bit of a complicated process as I recall.

Over the years, I have taken liberty and joy of using youtube for fun videos and other things, but some of the personalities kids watch for example Shane Dawson, and other various insecure Narcissistic youtube stars. They are dangerous for children to watch. i believe it gives them a false idea of how people are.

Also, People that use youtube are subject to many Athiests that try to spread word..

The thing I find bad about youtube is that it lets anyone get an account without having them prove who they are. People sign up using fake names and email addresses then go around harassing people and even slandering their reputation. Free speach is good but it`s not free speach when someone can say BS about you and then block you so you can`t respond. Otherwise I think it is good but you shouldn`t put to much information about yourself up on it. as there are some sick people out there. peace
