How many textbooks and after-school educational programs would $800,000 has purchased? How many lives would have been opened, and how many futures would be changed for the better?

Instead, the money has been wasted on this "skate park" where the thugs, lowlifes and taggers can all pretend to demonstrate how "cool" they really aren't.

I've never met a "skater" who wasn't a punk, a criminal, a lowlife, or a combination of all three.

Skateboarding may not be a crime, yet, but hopefully, one day, I'll see it banned as the dangerous waste of time that it really is.

And as soon as school starts in the fall, I'll be there, taking pictures of all the future little drop-outs, ditching class for the afternoon. Your principal will really love seeing those!

And don't waste your doped out brain cells trying to insult me. I'm not going to read any of your responses. You dopers aren't worth that much effort.

Tell your momma and daddy I hope the judge goes easy on you when you are convicted!

Buh Bye!(

Right on! I bust these little creeps quite often. They usually act all "tough guy" in front of me, but turn into crying little babies when mom comes to the station to pick them up after they get caught committing their various criminal acts.

And of course this will stop the skaters from EVER going to places they're not wanted and cause damage & fights like the mall, downtown, etc. I guess the Blair Park skate park wasn't good enough. I wonder if that 800K could have used to supplement the existing Parks N Rec budget so they could actually MAINTAIN existing park? Anyone seen Seccombe Lake Park lately????

so...you are a bully cop, who probably gets his jollies off by messing with 12 year old kids trying to recreate. My 13 year old skates. He's an honor student, volunteer, in the medical careers academy and never been in even a fraction of trouble in his entire life. If you treated my kid like that, I'd come down to that station and put you on your ass. In front of the rest of the inflated ego prick cops that got picked on in school. I have taught my kids to respect law enforcement. Your post is the reason why no one takes the police seriously anymore. Why don't you try solving real crime, instead of wasting your time with KIDS at a skate park. And to the other whiny poster bitching about textbooks and blah blah blah...when you give children a place to be kids and play, the crime rate actually drops. Imagine that huh? Who knew??? You give these kids a safe place to play and be kids and hang out with their friends, they see that you have to be a troublemaker. It builds self confidence and they see that this so much better than a life of crime. Yeah. Chew on that.

Sure is a lot of venom. The library is just a couple of miles away in Highland, What a shame in Victimville should shut up. As for the others, at least the young people are getting EXERCISE instead of turning into bloated overweight video game addicted mush heads. Good for them and good for the city.

Perhaps it would be a good opportunity for the Police to engage these kids in a positive way on their turf, instead of turning everything into confrontation.

Amen to Bully Patrol and Great.

It's funny how much venom gets spewed over a PARK.

This is good news. There are places in SBdo County where there are good parks, but there are also a lot of places that don't. The more the better.

You are the reason why cops get assaulted and killed. Please go pick on someone your own size. Stop acting like a bytch.

Well, at least local law enforcement will know where most of the punks, druggies, and no-accounts of society are!

Bully patrol? Your kid is a skater punk, and yet you defend him? That makes you an enabler, a lowlife, or both.

If I so much as see your little troublemaker plant his wheels on the sidewalks of Redlands, he's going to take a ride downtown, and you can come pick him up in about 6 hours. A cell may change both your attitudes.

Figures a meat head cop like you would fail to read what I posted about my son. That's your answer to everything? Just throw everyone in a cell? So much for community outreach, and positive law enforcement contacts. You've proved my point about why people don't respect law enforcement. You stereotype, and assume that just because a 13 year old likes to skateboard he is a "punk" (you obviously missed the parts in my other post about the awesome kid I've been blessed with. And truly, a father could not ask for a better son). This is very enlightening for me. I am really disappointed, but not surprised by your comment. You go ahead and keep wasting your time by harassing kids who decided they wanted to get out of the house and put down the PS3 controller. The "real" cops in your dept will pick up your slack. I'm sure they're used to it.

Bully Patrol? About 6 months ago, you threatened to attack me when I called your kid a punk. Do you think I've forgotten that? You're also a fool. You gave out your address at that time... Too bad you didn't know who I was then. But I've no time for that. I need to go bust skaters. I only hope your son is one of them.

I must be a different Bully Patrol...but either way, he should be easy to find. He'll be the 12 year old who's smarter than you. Go waste some more taxpayer money.

F*&K YOU!. Oh hey, yeah I'm one of those stereotypical a**holes you were talking about. Oh did I tell you that I graduated with a 3.8 GPA honors and currently attending U.C. Berkeley, majoring in linguistics? You're a f*cking pathetic low-life jock that wants nothing but our future to be seen done by the book. These kids need a place to be other than the streets. I would say about 90% of the kids nowadays that go to school are most likely to hate school. So what do you suggest? Build a basketball court for your typical scholar athlete and watch him fail on making it to the NBA? No. Do you think if you give your kids a book and expect them to read it all the way through on there free time? No. Don't get me wrong education is important, but what I'm trying to say that not all skateboarders are the same. Plain and simple. Look at your self in the mirror punch yourself several times in the jaw. Thank You.

Yo all you people are ignorant... your arguement is just as valid as saying "oh, we should never make football fields anymore, because nfl players beat their wives and are mean..."

YOU should all be ashamed because this is just as bad as saying theres no need for parks or anything else other people (GRATEFUL PEOPLE) cherish quite a bit.

You all need an attitude check, skateboarding is a SPORT now.. thats never going to change, so OBVIOUSLY theyre going to have to build places for that SPORT... to be practiced just as any other would.

skateboarders can be the most down to earth level headed kids in the world, but ignorant people like YOU treat them as dirt CONSTANTLY.. just for doing what they love. So no shit half of us want to knock that stupid look off your face..

I know all to well from experience as a filmer that PEOPLE have a problem with SKATEBOARDERS.. its almost never the other way around, they're there to have fun, excersize, and you'd never geuss it but learn a thing or two on the way as well..

You people need to open your eyes, we're not the problem. The way you all try to deal with us is..

A+ on the park by the way, i LOVE watching my kids have fun there.
