I guess I could list the sexual abuse by teachers, counselors, parents, youth workers, boy scouts,... and the list would go on. Yeah, statistically the number of abuse cases by persons who are priests remains small. And as another poster mentioned, how come no talks about the teachers that are abusing children, that is happening now?

Sexual abuse of children is always wrong. The message boards in regards to teachers abusing children make it sound as if these kids have been given a trip to disneyland. High fives all around since Tommy got to have sex with Miss Brown. It is wrong to sexually abuse a child. The catholic church is no less guilty than any other group.

The Bishops responded with a protocol and a process to deal with the abuse. They have apologized. And this is a good beginning.
