Cooper's Bar-B-Q is Cowtown-bound

There are 6 comments on the A liberal dose story from Feb 28, 2008, titled Cooper's Bar-B-Q is Cowtown-bound. In it, A liberal dose reports that:

“We just hope we can do as well as Angelo's, Railhead, Riscky's -- we want to be part of it.”

The biggest name in Hill Country barbecue is coming to Fort Worth.

Cooper's Old-Time Pit Bar-B-Q, famous as a Texas Monthly barbecue favorite, will open a location by fall on Northwest 28th Street near the Stockyards.

It's one of three Texas locations that Llano-based Cooper's will add.

This Cooper's, on a hill in the parking lot north of Billy Bob's Texas, will have the same open pit and thick pork chops and sirloins as the original.

Plus -- unlike its neighbors -- it'll have 'more free parking than anyplace in Fort Worth,' said Barry Cooper, family member and owner of the Fort Worth location. Read more

Cooper's is overrated. My wife and I drove all the way from Austin because of the publicity and I expected much better. An earlier post mentioned the Turkey sausage at Inman's. I love that stuff. I have tried all the spots around Austin and Cooper's would not even make the top ten.
