In answer to EXDRCJohnnyG:
To insult those who have made comments here about the way "business is run"....at DRC...
Let me say this:
We know its about money, however, if "we people" as you called us, are not happy with the personalities on air and we don't listen to the station<<,
Then i think its safe to say there is no $$$$ being made...
Oh yes, have a sparkling day!

It isn't about the personality it's all about the $$$.
I think Jerry is the right guy for the job.Having worked with him
in the 90s he made it a fun place to work.
People were more personal and I hope that element Returns to the air with him.Good luck Jer...

Some of us do have a clue, maybe two or more clues, about how the business is run. Money is king. You also know that changes in moderately quick succession is not good for retainting listeners at a station, especially when it is: Listen to Mike Steves in the morning, can Mike Stevens, Listen to John Seville in the mornings, can John SEville, Mike is back, Jerry is coming though, so.... blah blah blah. Looking mighty dumb these days Big D.

You hit the nail right on the head. You have a low opinion of the audience. Of course we know it is all about money. If I have to listen to one more falsetto shrill cackle or sarcastic remark!! I don't need the stress anymore. What I want is music and my CD's are for that! And what did happen to all those contests. Who needs more junk.

DRC for me with John Saville was the last of the stations in the area that played music music music on my long drive from Waterbury into Hartford!! And music I enjoyed hearing. Now I have learned of the changes and cannot believe Mary Ann remains! REMAINS! And the new format of 50/50 - At work I listen to ppl talk for 8 hours so when I am on my way to work and on my way home, I want music - music that is up beat, takes me back to another time, has memories and makes me smile - since John was at DRC I heard the music lists change and I started to listen even weekends at home and it was great! So that Monday morning when I backed out of my garage, and was not hearing the Caddy Man voice but Mikes AGAIN, I was so disappointed. Having worked in radio a few years back when Sebastian was let go at 93.7, I knew something happened so now, I am back to making cd's for the drive to work of the songs from the 60's I just adore as much as I do John. May John rise once again and shine away back in late spring/early summer- My prayers are still with Beth Bradley - she is the best and was a great compliment to John. Mary Ann needs her own radio station somewhere far far FAR away.

well we got a preview yesterday when whatever his name is stopped by to read school closings... I've already concluded I need to find an alternative station. I guess his format will be akin to Gary Craig, Sebastain, and other talkies who are full of themselves and have nothing to say ... I hope the other HD channel they have just plays music...

Hey John Gardner!
Care to resurrect your once notable radio
career and take the reins at 'DRC-FM?
Since you are such a business insider,
I thought you might be the right guy at the right time.
To the other Saville fans:
Caddy was unceremoniously terminated by
Clear Channel years ago, so he won't be cropping up in any of their Hartford holdings any time soon.
I suppose there's always the CBS/Infinity Cluster, and I hear the Mohegan Indians run an FM oldies station from their casino!
no talent in ct radio

the reason these local yocal stations keep bringing back crusty fossils is cause there is not a heck of a lot talent in CT. The station JK came from WELI is all national network radio. He was the last local show. 530 to 9. So out of all there hours of programming not 1 min of local programming. Truly pathetic! Look at arbitron ratings breakdown for CT stations. They're putrid!
Check out the track record, CCC brings back Sebastard, DRC brings back Kristafer, It's true what goes around comes around. Like the Bon Jovi tune who says you can't go home?????

Bravo DRC, thanks for bringing Jerry back.
Even out of pure desperation could I have tolerated WELI and Imus.

I am sorry to see the "Caddy Man" go. At least he was real and sincere. I am tired of O'Hare and her lack of intelligence hog the mic. Who cares how she talked her way out of a speeding ticket..I mean seriously...If someone should have hit the road..it is her...sorry...my true feelings.

Speeding, talking about her times with her man, and talking about herself. Oy. We are baby boomers and although we dont have children that listen to WDRC, we dont want people on the air that set poor examples. Hmm, Atty General Blumenthal was the guest on the first show...how ironic! Glastonbury Police take note: Ms OHare speeds to get to work! Ms. OHare better not be on the road when my children are driving through Glastonbury.

We all know MOH has no shortage of ego. She was only tolerable when we lost the ever personable Beth Bradley. MOH is terrible. I listened to her pronounce words wrongly over and over the day she asked for the term "Flux Capacitor" from the movie "Back to the Future". She kept calling it a capacitator... Typical communications grad.

Beth and the Caddie Man were the team no one could beat. Why they chose to keep MOH and not Caddy man is another issue of ego. The new guy is the GM. Now you can't have two male personalities on the air together, it just doesn't work.

Poor Johnnie, but we know he'll be back somewhere else, and that's where we can tune into...

I hated to see Jerry leave WELI as that's where I got my local news. Although he wasn't my favorite
when I moved back to CT in 2001, I changed my mind after a short time.
Jerry was interested in what was going on in the New Haven area, and wasn't afraid to let those that were jerks, especially Mayor DeStefano, who
went off the deep end with the illegal alian ID cards.
I'll miss the local flavor of the morning show.
As for Imus.....enough to make me switch stations.
GOOD LUCK JERRY, YOU ARE A COOL GUY!

I haven't listened to Kristaffer since his days as Morning man on KC-101. Over the years, I've thought of him as an obnoxious blowhard-type, who likes to hear his own voice.
And the poster from Canton, needs to listen to the morning team of Bax and O'Brien, on Rock 102. Bax and O'Brien are both men, but they are somewhat offset by news reader Sarah Ryan, who intereacts with them, on whatever irreverant topic comes up.

Now we have two Exploding Ego's vying for time, crashing and colliding over the airwaves. It is a trainwreck. Just horrible. I'll pass on mornings and listen to the evening with Mike Stevens
some personalities are ok

I'm not sure about the new DRC morning show, but i was listening this week and found Lisa The Promotions Diva to be a wonderful air takent and personality. she is at all the events, and is more than capable of being on the air. She shows how much she cares by the hard work she does. she is funny, and a good sport.
