Skyfall wasn't that great. It was watchable, alright, not bad etc I didn't regret going to watch it in the cinema, but it was nothing special. It was far from brilliant no matter how much the British press or its cast is trying to hype it.

Nominations and Oscars stay for ever in your biography long after the money has gone.
Anyone can make money, but very few win Oscars.

Skyfall massively ovverated, and that Adele tune...lol, i swear she is laughing at us, didn't she say she wrote it in like 10 minutes or something? It sounds so fake and is trying too hard to be a 'classic' Bond theme. It SUCKS.
Daniel Craig is a fine Bond imho, but his Bonds are no fun anymore. Just soulless actioners.
If i am stuck in my house on a wet Saturday afternoon, i would rather watch a Moore Bond like Moonraker than something boring like Skyfall. Yes Moonraker is extremely silly, but its good family fun, entertaining, good locations, action, girls and you can see where the millions it took to make, went, and a nice fantasy element missing from modern Bond.Where the FUN in Bond films now? Old Bonds are akin to Dallas or Dynasty, big bold over the top fun not to be taken too seriously. Modern Bond is more like Eastenders, dreary and miserable, and makes you want to slit your wrists.

Agree with you fully. I liked the Moore films better, a bit more lighthearted and a bit more imagination. Was watching For Your Eyes Only there a while back on tele and at the end where the parrot is meant to be talking to Thatcher on the phone LOL little things like that. Not a chance we'd see anything like that in these new Bond films though. Also the theme song wasn't bad in my opinion, the girl is a good singer but it doesn't have a patch on others from the past.

Expect ''Lincoln'' to sweep the board at the Oscars. Haven't seen it, heard it was good though. Regardless its politically motivated subject matter will ensure its triumph regardless. Same as many other films in the past......

Jimmy Savile deserves an Oscar for acting.

Lincoln was cyniaclly made just for the Oscar. Daniel Day Lewis? Worthy subject matter? long, slow ponderous and talky? It's set up to win.
