You asked...Doc Degall wrote: <quoted text>
"I just wanna get a sense of where you stand.
So your support of legal abortion is not based at all on a woman's right to personal autonomy?"
Where I stand? On what? Picking oranges? The price of peanuts? We are talking abortion correct? You get that, right?
YOU interjected that I "support"... "legal abortion". I never said that at all, did I? YOU followed your question with some presumptions on what I supposedly support, true? Or do I need to show you the question you wrote again? The one full of your own personal assumptions?
I believe I told you that I don't like abortion and would not choose to have one and that I support other women having the ability to make their own choice.
I also know that I have stated to before that we live in a country of laws and nobody has 100% personal autonomy in anything. Not you, not me, not anyone. I can drink alcohol all I want but I can't then go drive my car. I've said all this before, more than once.
Your argument that a woman can't get an abortion right up to before birth is meaningless. If a woman wants an abortion she has a certain number of months to obtain one. Nobody has 100% autonomy in anything...nobody. That doesn't just apply to abortion, and you know that too.
How antichoice of you.

Perhaps you should support your statement with some kind of actual argument to counter what I had written...? What do you have to say then?

Why would you punish a woman just because she didn't have an abortion within the timeframes that you support?

"Nobody has 100% autonomy in anything...nobody."

Good point, except that that is exactly what pro"choicers" demand.

And I, yours, BA...
You want to overturn Doe v Bolton?

"Summary:

Doe v. Bolton is the companion case for Roe v. Wade, the landmark Supreme Court case that established a “substantive due process” right to abortion. In Roe, Justice Harry Blackmun instructed that Roe and Doe “are to be read together.” In this 7-2 opinion by Justice Blackmun, the Court elaborated on the “health exception” established in Roe. In cases where an abortion is necessary in order to preserve the life or health of the mother, the state must permit an abortion even after viability. According to Justice Blackmun, the doctor’s medical judgment as to the health of the mother may be “exercised in the light of all factors—physical, emotional, psychological, familial, and the woman’s age—relevant to the wellbeing of the patient.” "

Where exactly did I equate having a certain number of months to obtain an abortion as "punishment"? That in itself is a choice. Seek abortion within the specified time when it's available, or don't. That is a choice.

Where exactly did anyone "demand" 100% autonomy? What did they say so I can address it?

Let me ask you something...if I see a job posting and want to apply, and I wait 2 months to send an application in, am I being "punished" if I don't get the job?

Are you hammered ? YOU are the one who lied and said I left off the word "right" in my discussion with Bitter. The onus is on you to prove it. How could I possibly prove you lied ? How could I possible prove that a post DOESN'T exist ?
You tell me and I'll do it right now.
I maintain that you posted that you are a lying moron.
Prove I'm lying.
<quoted text>
Your patience with ME !?! It's been almost a year of you stalling saying you're going to find the proof of your lie....proof you said would be EASY to find. And your patience with ME is thinning ?????
<quoted text>
Yes you did. If you hadn't you'd have come up with the proof by now.
<quoted text>
So at some point you DID lie ? After I accused you of lying ? What does this even mean ?
<quoted text>
October ? Fine. You can have till December. I ain't rushing you.
Hammered? Not hardly. You most definitely can search out posts and supply your own answers. In fact, when it hadn't been brought up for a while, I'd assumed you'd done exactly that. Guess I was wrong. Ass U Me.

It's been repeated I initially asked you in spring/summer 2011 if you'd accidentally or on purpose left off the word "right" in your posts with Bitner since Dec 2010. You have claimed repeatedly that I called you a liar from the get go. I counter this and base it on the fact I'd initially asked. You accused me of calling you a liar and I've denied it.(there, repeated 3 times so there should be no misunderstanding; should being keyword)

So, in reality (Katiespeak for the antonym of Doc's twisted wording), the onus is on you, has been on you, and will remain on you until it's resolved.

Now, it is true that following your repeated accusation I DID call you a liar around August 2011. So let's be clear that incident is not included and any documentation (posts) regarding it is null and void.

Doc asks above, "So at some point you DID lie ? After I accused you of lying ? What does this even mean ?"

WTF knows what it means. It, to me, seems like a perfect example of you twisting things again.

Pass

You used to me remind me of my boy cousins -- guys I could disagree with, but still have fun even if we'd grown apart. Not so much anymore, BA. Our views aren't so different, except I definitely don't want to see Doe v Bolton overturned and do not understand why you'd even want to go there. It would just be a means to overturn Roe and you claim not to want to do that.

You claim you hold no contradictions, but don't want to listen when someone points out the most glaring one.

So you really didn't mean this:

"If a woman wants an abortion she has a certain number of months to obtain one."

What if she chooses to abort after that time? Are you ok with denying her her "bodily autonomy"? Why would you punish a woman, for not making her choice within the timeframe that you consider acceptable, by making her continue a pregnancy that she doesn't want?

What lie? LNM supports restricting "choice", which makes her just as antichoice as you claim that I am. The only difference is WHEN we support restricting that choice.
