i'm just hoping they will deliver a good album, but knowing the talent of these guys, it will be a great album, sure!!!!

i think it's the first "big" hard rock band to write their own songs, since the very beginning, and hope they'll continue to do that.

aerosmith, bon jovi,and all these bands we love don't do that since a long time, and i think it's wrong....

i'd like to do some jams with you,'cause i'm playing drums, but i think we're just a little bit far . lisbon and paris , lol!

Hi Fred... nice talking to you, even if we have different views on music (and definately on Van Halen).

When DLR introduced the tour, he explicitly said that an europpean and asian leg of the tour would follow the american one... let's see.

If you want to jam, let me know when you are in Lisbon and I'll let you know when I'm in Paris (I've been there some 7~8 times)... chose a setlist and we'll go from there.

You can not possibly compare Bon Jovi to Van Halen. Van Halen are so legendary and so influential. According to RIAA.com , Van Halen have sold almost 30 million more records than Bon Jovi in the US. Then when you thorw in their musical talent: David Lee Roth is the greatest frontman ever. Eddie is the greatest Rock guitar player ever. Alex is one of the ten best drummers in Rock history. How do you match Bon Jovi's bubblegum talent against the greatest American Rock band of all time?

This tour is actually the most relevent in 2007 and 2008. The best tour I have seen in the past year and I have seen The Police and Bon Jovi at Prudential.

There are two aspects to judge: public acceptance and music/lyrics quality and relevance.

I think everyone will agree that in the first aspect, Bon Jovi and Van Halen have comparable histories of success... but in the second one, there's no possible matching between the bands.

I know that Bon Jovi members are talented but they clearly opted by not taking chances and going solely for the commercial act, as their frontman is an actractive man with a very nice voice; so, they release soft-pop, soft-rock catchy songs (rock ballads included) and are home safe.

I think Van Halen also did that but only for a short time (the first Hagar albums) and that's clearly NOT what characterizes Van Halen.

Bon Jovi's greatest discographic reference is "Slippery When Wet" or "Keep The Faith" while Van Halen's is "1984", "Fair Warning" or "Van Halen I".

The main man in Bon Jovi is its vocalist.
The main man in Van Halen is its guitarist.

I don't know why clowns like Creem Magazine and others on this post continue to diss Jovi. I love both bands and have seen them live plenty of times. They both deliver the goods musically. And soon enough, Bon Jovi will be inducted into the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame.
