"EVB" and "EVB Live" are the most "small town", pretentious efforts to be "big time" I've ever viewed. Let's face it, you're simply another local channel in Phoenix, AZ not a big time network flagship channel in NYC. Just report the news as "Channel 12, Phoenix". Your new "EVB" thing just makes you look affected and ridiculous.

Scott does a good job, but the girls Tram and Caribe seem too chirpy and are annoying after 5 minutes. And speaking of Tram, why does no one ever pronounce her name properly (Trahm). Must every Asian name be Americanized? Must you speak to the masses or might it be possible to educate your viewers? Every time Mark nasalates her name I cringe.

Your new EVB programming leaves a lot to be desired.
I am used to watching your news broadcast at 5pm, which I have been doing for over 5 years, followed by the world news with Brian Williams. Now I will watch either the CBS, Fox, or ABC news at 5pm. I will still watch Brian Williams, but you are no longer the place to go for the 5 PM news.

I realize that you show the news after Brian Williams, but you are and hour too late. So sorry.

You have lost us for local news. We have switched to 15 at 5. We do switch back for Brian Williams. We also miss Jimmy's weather. We know that EVB is to appeal to a younger demographic but they are still at work. Give us real news and weather and we will switch back.

Am watching channel 15 news at 5:00. Had been
watching 12 for eight years. No more. Still
watch Brian Williams though.

What a disappointment - I used to fight for the remote to watch channel 12 news but you have lost me too. I agree with the other comments that it is pretentious and is not really news or entertainment. It is like watching small town broadcasters trying to appear big time and it is not working. Enough is enough of media trying to be entertainers - it is an embarrassment to Phoenix local "newscasters." Interestingly, I disliked it from the beginning but I thought it was just me; but obviously there are many others who feel the same way. New viewers who might not be aware of what EVB stands for are probably even more confused.

I have looking for reviews since they made the switch and am glad to see I am not alone!! That set, those stories, the lack of direction...shall I go on? That set is awful!! Channel 15 must be thrilled as it appears we have all gone there for our 5:00 news fix. Return to your roots channel 12 and I will return as a viewer. I also liked Valley Dish, so I was a viewer straight thru the early hours. Oh yea I guess that doesn't matter since I am not in the youthful age group channel 12 desires!

I am changing the way I watch local TV, now my family is watching channel 15 news but always go back to Brian Williams. Bringing the "outside" into your news room was fine but the EVB thing does nothing but make us switch the channel.

While I love Scott and Tram I can't stand this new programming. I want Jimmy Q back. I have actually quit watching it. I used to like the early news. But hey I can get that somewhere else where I don't have to watch all this EVB junk which is actually East Van Buren St (used to be know for hooker's there). I used to like to watch valley dish too. I think you did her a great disservice when you switched her to this format. And do something about their knees. They all look uncomfortable. See you all at Channel 15 for evening news. Brian Williams still my fav.

The program lives up to a show named after a strip known for prostitution.

I used to be a solid channel 12 watcher, but EVB is driving me to look elsewhere. This isn't the Big Apple.... we have a large population but small town appearance.

I agree with ALL of the above. I have watched channel 12 for 17 years in the valley.
In additon to EVB live producers making the talented anchor team of Trahm Mai and Scott light look ridiculous and out of place, the early news on at 5:00 am with Faye Fredericks also a talented anchor woman and her crew just laughing all the time in a serious time that our nation is facing, it is all ridiculous!! I have also switched to channel 15 with the exception of Brian Williams and Cooney & Curtis.
You guys at channel 12 should do the right moves before it is too late for you.

It is appears that the "powers that be" at Channel 12 have begun to see the light ... at least a small glimmer ... I note they no longer refer to their location as "EVB", but as "East Van Buren" - I guess that's a start .. but the "EVB Live" show continues and continues to be awful.

EVB is just awful! I'm in the demographic they're hoping to appeal to and I find myself cringing throughout the interviews and small talk. I can't see this show lasting much longer.

'Your Health with Dr. Denise' is a great addition to EVB Live. I enjoy her presentations. Thanks.

My husband is a hero he performed CPR on out 4 month old son. We woke up on Oct. 20 and found him gone. The fire department first response wants to do a success story and the only news who seems to be interested is ebb live. So thanks bunches!!!!!!

All of the comments here are mean-spirited and downright clueless.

Media is constantly evolving. What they are attempting to do is to bring some formats that are being used in other large cities here to Phoenix.

They are not TRYING to be anything other than what they are: newscasters trying to bring in another portion of the audience out there. Not "pretentious"; not "affected"; not "too big city" (although this IS a big city.)

It's too bad that all the "Powers That Be" at Channel 12 get is negative reactions and resistance from the very people they are trying to please.

And to "Phoenician": You have far too much time on your hands to constantly post on here. Get over YOURSELF. Go do something worthwhile with your life.

The acronym "EVB" (while now dropped by the "powers that be" in favor of the much more descriptive "East Van Buren Street" was pretentious and affected - and they finally realized it. As for EVB Live", the show continues to be, as others posting here believe, "ridiculous", "junk", "awful" and " a disappointment".

And to "John", It's better to read the entire thread before posting and be thought a fool than to fail to read it and remove all doubt of your inadequacies.
If Channel 12 continues to receive negative reactions from the viewing public, they may come to conclusion that they should go back to the drawing board and change their programming.

Still better than watching Patti Kirkpatrick stutter and stammer on Ch. 3
