"None of the conventional battery technologies featured in the study has reached that level. Lithium-ion is the best at 6,000 cycles, while lead-acid technology is at the bottom, achieving a mere 700 cycles."

Why did they leave out Altairnano's nanosafe nano-titanate battery? Who have supplied batteries for grid energy storage projects who claim a 25,000 cycle battery life at 85% of new capacity. Perhaps they didn't make the good ol' boys list? To make a broad statement of the types of energy storage studied and one was "lithium ion" to leave this technology out is suspecious.
