Peanutbutter 09 comments:"Donít drink the alternative energy KoolAid too fast Ö youíll never run automobiles on solar power or air condition you home with solar power. Small business accounts for over 95% of all US companies and they cannot afford to run on alternative energy Ö unless you want 50% unemployment. If your neighborhood pizza parlor had to run their ovens on alternative energy be prepared to wait 2 hours and pay $100 for a pizza."

It's called grid tied solar PV putz! You put enough solar PV on your roof to get energy credits for use at night or cloudy days. Yes, I do run my air condition with solar power, have been for 7 years now. As for cooking pizza, solar PV is just one source of solar power, there is also concentrated solar heat echangers with heat storage, it can be done. Electricity is a re-occuring cost for ANY business dumba$$. Buy a solar PV system, put it on the business's roof and offset or eliminate this re-occuring cost.

WHY ALTERNATIVE ENERGY WILL NEVER ACHIEVE WIDESPREAD USE IN OUR LIFETIME

The reason, is most people will not get off their a$$e$ and use the current technology available to drive the industry to create more alternative energy generation sources. Solar PV, they ramble on about ROI when they would not think twice about going out to get that brand new vehicle. The vehicle an energy sink and a money sink for the life of the vehicle. Then they trade it in and do it all over again. For the cost of the car once, you could put solar on your roof for life. The old idea of leaving a legacy has become passe. It's not the most toys wins, or the largest house on the block. The legacy is the simple act of paying forward the amount of power one will need to power one's home, for life and then leaving a legacy to whoever own's the property next.
