"But the cost of solar panels does not offset the fact that the price of solar power is three times what it costs for gas-generated power."

"Fact"?, Keller where did YOU get this fact? The enegy market is changing every year. Many utilities are going to tiered rates. SCE and PG&E are examples of such a move by electric utilities. Folks in SCE territory are putting in systems that cost on the order of 30K, but are paying for themselves within 5 to 7 years on electricity savings. Just like Southern Nevada, the summers in Southern California are brutal and costly. Keller you've got to be a renter, one who pays someone else's taxes and upkeep in the name of freedom. Keller, get some "facts" and try this again. www.dsireusa.org

I tend to agree with "Very Funny," in that "we can't afford NOT to have solar power..." our world is far too dependent on fossil fuels that are NON-RENEWABLE. Eventually those sources are going to run out and when that happens our economy will be in REAL trouble. The smart thing to do is to make the investment now.

A memory may also be distorted now, leading to mix-ups or bewilderment.
