"-- President Obama has made that same argument saying we should take the subsidies from Big Oil and give them to Big Solar -- the fact remains solar power is already subsidized at greater cost than any other form of energy based on the amount of electricity generated."

I'd like to see the "facts" that led to that statement. Big Oil is an intrinsic 150 year old institution. Fossil fuel doesn't have to be used to generate electricity. Most of the Big Oil products are used for other things, cosmetics, fertilizers, chemical reactants... Bottom line, if Big Oil that has been around for 150 years is so good, why does it still need and get favorable tax incentives, loans, grants to develop more sources of oil? Some of this money is sent to countries that are not the friends of the U.S.

Oil isn't used to generate electricity to any appreciable extent so I suspect it isn't included in the discussion.
