Biggest Solar Power Company in U.S. Could Double

"For the record, as of this writing the largest planned solar project planned for California is Solar Milleniumís 1,000-megawatt Blythe project in the Mohave desert."
Old copy,solar Millennium is bankrupt the project has been cancelled and will require a full study to get the "new" project using solar PV instead of concentrated solar installed. Time is running out for Government incentives 12/31/16.
"Though not the biggest solar project planned for pubic land in California, the NextEra project (through McCoy Solar LLC) is massive by any measure. If approved, its 750 megawatts are enough to provide electricity for 225,000 homes."
Why not put solar PV on the roofs of 225,000 homes where the power will be used, instead of generating it in a remote location and "shipping" the product to market?
