"Federal officials approved a plan Friday that sets aside 285,000 acres of public land for the development of large-scale solar power plants, cementing a new government approach to renewable energy development in the West after years of delays and false starts."
So, now the Government is getting into the power generation sector. You could use 445 square miles of remote area to install solar generation facilities. You could put solar PV systems on every big box store roof, warehouse and factory. You could also put from 3 to 6KW peak solar on the roofs of homes and generate the power where it is needed and during peak use times of the day. Really, how much power over the public do you want the Government to have? Do you really want the Federal Government to have their hands on the power breaker?
