Why skeptics must heed climate change

Full story: PittsburghLIVE.com

To global warming holdouts and oil drilling enthusiasts: OK, maybe you don't care or believe that within a couple of generations global warming's effects on sea levels will swamp the world's coastlines, displacing hundreds of millions of people.

These skeptics are the sort who think the earth is 6000 years old or that creationism is a science or that margaret thatcher was a great democrat or that legalized torture is fine or that some fundie, high school chemistry teacher's opinion counts as much as Hansen's or that no one has seen Obama's birth certificate or that with seven billion people on the planet the future is based on accelerated carbon based energy.

They won't heed rational arguments or evidence, ever. Praiz!

"OK, maybe you don't care or believe that within a couple of generations global warming's effects on sea levels will swamp the world's coastlines, displacing hundreds of millions of people."
This is simply more fear mongering propaganda.

Not only don't we believe it, we all know for a fact that it isn't going to happen, "within a couple of generations."

Not only that, but if the cycles of this planet do lead into a warmer cycle, there's nothing we can do about it. We can tone down the carbon emissions a bit. That's all. That's it. We can stop organic life on the globe from producing methane (NO. I AM NOT GOING TO BECOME A VEGAN! WE ARE OMNIVORES!) and we can't stop our oceans and lakes from bubbling up methane.

This whole global warming charade is a big money maker for leftist greens.

Don't worry. Be happy.

We can't even stop, "organic life" from producing methane, because plant life emits it.

Toning down, reducing CO2 production, will have no worthwhile effect whatsoever.

Oops...it's early...that should read "We CAN'T stop organic life from producing methane..."

Global Warming is getting worse by the day. When will people learn that the only way to eliminate this threat is to kill Santa's Reindeer and the Easter Bunny. Their farts are dooming our planet!

Global temperatures spiked once in the late 1990s. Since then, every year has been cooler. An average of the past 50 years shows temperatures are lower than in the previous 50 years. Man has absolutely no effect on our atmosphere. Global warming is a socialist scam designed to separate hard-working Americans from their money and distribute it to General Electric and lazy-ass minorities who are able to get jobs, but would rather suck Uncle Sam's teat.

So in order to put out a fire, you bring gasoline? Conservation and recycling never hurt anyone, if not for the greenhouse gases emitted just from a pollution aspect.

I'm trying to stop organic life from emitting methane by eating one or two cows per year.

Plant life does not produce methane, it only produces after it dead as in composting. Plants produce oxygen during the daylight hours and produce CO2 during nighttime hours.

The vegan solution? Everyone in the world become vegan. Now, how practical is that? Where's the beef? I'm with Dennis Leary on beef consumption. Do anything you want, but leave that filet mignon alone!

The planet is always changing mostly over geographic time lines and I think it is good.

The man made warming debate will go on until the end happens or not The earth will still be here but its highest lifeforms may be different..cockroaches and rats lol

We can spend all the rest of our lives worrying about stuff..that really we can do nothing about...all the time China and India think they have the right to pollute and even the score regarding industrial revolution and administrations..we are stuck with it. As long as my end is painless I do not care too much, I certainly am not going to worry about next year when I can have fun tomorrow :)

We all have to die sometime. Mankind WILL die out one day..all empires fall..back in the day who would have thought the dinos would have died out? Their dying and other events and disasters have led to this ape species being a plague on the earth. I do not think nature or god would weep at losing a species that killed over 100 million of its own in just a hundred years. Let it all melt and burn..as long as I get a good sun tan and some action I don't really care...

We also can do little to control nitrous oxide, the third biggest source of greenhouse gases. Halocarbons we can and have cut back on. But you know what? We're piss-ants riding a huge bull elephant and have no control, not really, over mother earth. She'll do whatever she damned well pleases. And we're still gonna die.

Again, global warming is just another money-maker for greens, like many of their causes.

My question is why alarmist cannot explain why the planet must maintain one temp when it has never done so before. The planet has experienced many ice ages with warm periods in between.

Skeptics already heed climate change and consider it part of the lifecycle of the planet. Alarmist are the one who insist that it has to be the result of man.

Hey Birther / Placenter dolt: You could eat less meat, as opposed to becoming vegan, and you could conserve energy in other ways. But the hoggish, denying, cretinous, anti science cretins would never do that.

It's all about denying reality, pretending to understand what science is and consuming the entire earth for the constapo and talibangelical nutcases. No amount of reason will ever work on their "beliefs."

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Capricorn

Self deception will be the main issue today. You may be judging your situation wrongly: don't hold back, say what you think diplomatically and without being hurtful. This should result in a positive mental outlook for you. Competitive sports activity will ease any stress or tension.
