I lived in pg for 16 years. I had a few relatives who worked at the plant including my grandfather who helped build the plant and my dad who was a security guard. I raised the questions a few times of what were the chances that the plant could blow up ? and what i was told by everyone was that there were many precautions put into place so that if something were to happen the plant would be able to be shutdown before anything major would happen. In honest opinion the people that work there are well trained and know what is going on at all times. also most people do not fear the power plant, energy has put much thought into all scenarios and have any problem that may arise covered. To see some parts of this all you have to do is drive toward pg and you will see more and more evacuation route signs and also signs that show how far out the radiation will go. Also there are sirens in town that are tested monthly that are specifically for the nuclear plant. One benefit that pg has with energy there was (dont know if still is ) energy used to give pg a check each year to help with city expenses or something like that.
