Oh, but why do you post on these forums if not to get straightened up by someone like me?

Poverty is (in no small part) caused by having to fork over 50-70-120 US$ per barrel of combustible goo to the Oil Barons and a similar fee to Putins' Gas Boyars per cubic meter of Earth farts.

Having a dependable, cheap, source of energy well into the predictable future is well worth the initial investment. A corrupt government can easily blow through 10 billion in one election cycle. A nuclear powerplant is there for 50 - 80 - 100 years.
