The big energy news in my part of the world this past week has been the pending closure of Vermont's only nuclear power plant, Vermont Yankee , in Vernon, about six miles south of Brattleboro.

I have become tired of hearing about this issue. Maybe it's because I won't be living in Vermont much longer. My heart goes out to the people and their families who will be losing their jobs, but other than that I would like to forget about this.

The words is when they close and pull out they will leave the gate open for all of those that have been waiting for "exposure" can have their wishes fore filled. If you need any pipe or "heavy" metal you can strip out what you want. Good luck on your adventures and thrills.

Why isn't anyone talking about returning the defunct Brattleboro Home Depot to a green space?

Because home depot didn't crap their property up with radiactivity like VY...green space is a euphemism for bringing a site back to its original radiation levels before the plant was built...

Given all the industrial pollution with Cobalt radiography sources, this shouldn't be such a problem ...
Well if our glorious federal gub'mint wasn't beholden (in various sundry ways) to BigOil.
