The DOE has many energy related statistics on their web pages. One page pegs yearly electricity usage across the U.S. as 920KWh a month. With 129 million roofs in the country, if you put 8KW peak solar PV on each roof, you could zero out the yearly electricity generation of the entire U.S. Pipe dream, perhaps, impossible, No.
