Wow, only $14.18 per acre! Where are all the liberals screaming about the unfair amounts companies pay for leases. I bet if Exxon paid this little for drilling rights, the libs would be apoplectic.

huckleberry,
After all this time you still haven't figured out that using "lib" as a pejorative makes you appear uneducated, uniformed, or a supporter of a philosophy that is counter to the ideas which are the same as those that this very nation were founded on, such as fascism, communism, or imperialism.

Touche, I meant uninformed...

My point still stands. I have not only given him the definition of liberalism, as is academically accepted, but have given him plenty of opportunity to look up. If he wants to appear stupid, by all means, it's up to him.

All that BS because I used the "lib" word? Why don't you address the REAL issue? I.e. Dominion only paying a token amount for a lease of Government land.

Dominion bid the most, they get it. The government put no minimum on it. Standard operating procedure for the government.

I agree. Our guv'mint is full of incompetents. But you can bet your bottom dollar that if this had been an oil lease, the non-productive (since dude seems to have a problem with me using the lib word) members of our society would be having a schit fit.

Personally, I am hoping that Dominion leased it so they could develop it VERY slowly so as not to screw up the VA power grid as wind power so often does.

Maybe they will get smart and install subsea CAES bladders and help make wind at least a MARGINALLY viable energy source.

Well, Huck, because I don't care about the lease. I see you're being equally dishonest or equally uninformed about who would have a problem with an oil lease, though. Kiteman is our local spokesman for nuclear power, and probably works for a think tank to spread misinformation.

I see now. You just care about slamming someone over the use of the lib word. So very childish.

There's a difference between slamming a person and defending the core tenets of a philosophy. I wouldn't expect some who doesn't understand the core tenets of liberalism to be smart enough to understand that.

Not really, calling a spade a spade isn't slamming, but it's always nice to see one guy white knight for another. How does his arse taste?

I'm being neither racist nor sexist. Clearly you don't understand the phrase calling a spade a spade. It's common, very common; I learned it in Jr. High, and it's been around for over 100 years.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/To_call_a_spade_...

White Knighting is another term, an internet slang term. It is when one comes to the defense of a romantic interest that is being defeated in a debate on the internet.

Whatever it is that you have, it isn't a PhD, and perhaps not even a highschool diploma. If you get sand in your vadge from the internet, perhaps it isn't for you.

I've never heard or seen the term spade used in a derogatory or racial manner, perhaps it's the company I keep. Is it common at Klan meetings?

Seems your knowledge of such colloquialisms is as limited as your ability to recognize your own nastiness.

It appears your knowledge of phrases that are often used and ARE OVER 100 YEARS OLD is as limited as your ability to know the difference between idioms and colloquialisms. What's next, when I call you as bright as an unlit light bulb are you going to call be a racist; because what color is darkness? I don't hang out with stupid people or racists, so I wouldn't know if a stupid ignorant racist used an idiom that is OVER 100 YEARS OLD in improper context.(Yes, I know that calling a person an ignorant racist is redundant.) Do yourself a favor and quit going to Klan meetings and hanging out with stupid ignorant people.
I am very well of my nastiness, most call it being obtuse, direct, or reciprocity.
